Driving on interstate-95 in new york i felt a vibration start in the back of the car which grew very quickly. i pulled over to find the right rear tire flat. i found the tire had a slit in the side wall half way around the tire with a gap between the tread and the body core of the tire. it appears that the tread started to separate form the tire. i check the tire pressures regularly and keep them at the manufactures recommended pressures.
