When running the ac on the car, there is an extremely bad odor which can be smelled both inside the car and out. it appears to be some kind of burning or chemical odor. it will actually affect the body by making your eyes burn and making you feel sick. it can not be driven. we have taken it to the dealership three times with the problem unresolved. the third time, we were told that the car was fixed; however, upon testing at the dealership, it was clear that the problem was unresolved. we have been told that ford's engineers are coming in to assess the problem, as the service manager pulled three new cars off the lot and found the same problem.  view

1. there were no warning signs, according to the mechanic it wasn't going bad it just went. 2. i was pulling out of a parking lot into traffic when suddenly the vehicle just stopped moving. i was merging into traffic and instead of getting out and going i got out and almost got hit. the car coming towards me slammed on the breaks and was able to swerve around me. 3. the rear planitary gear weld failed, this failure was described as a sudden catastrophic failor. the vehicle could not be put into park. it was towed into the dealership they said the fluid was bad and the filter clogged. the vehicle has 55,000 miles they say the 7/70 warrenty didnt apply to my model. the second mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the filter or the fluid that they have to replace a lot of these part the welds fail alot. i called diamler/chrysler and told them what the mechanic said that i wanted to send them back the part that showed that the failure was manufacturer's defect they explained to me that it didn't matter that it why it failed just that it was out of warranty and they don't want to see the part. i was lucky the next person may not be. the vehicle is 2001 dodge grand caravan sport. so far the hatch doesn't work when this part failed i was also notified that the wheel cylinder on the rear brakes failed and that could have caused fire to the vehicle the dealership wanted 4.000 plus tax to fix these problems. the entire rear braking system had to be redone and the transmission had to be rebuilt. i have decided not to deal with fixing the hatch so it opens.  view

Unknown rear suspension component failed, causing loss of control and accident in which the rear axle and suspension components were severely damaged, so that the original broken component could not be determined. accident occurred while vehicle was traveling in a straight line on level ground at about 60 mph. the brakes were applied and did not engage the anti-lock system, yet the rear end of the car swerved wildly, which caused the car to hit a high curb, severely damaging the right rear tire, axle, and suspension.  view

I have great misgivings about repairs effected by a daimler chrysler dodge dealership on a recent recall issued by the manufacturer and effecting a several chrysler models including my 1998 dodge intrepid. recall involved changing out driver's side recliner bolts. i've contacted daimler chrysler corp.'s customer service dept. to voice my concerns. chrysler's customer services as informed me that their dealer confirmed satisfactory completion of the work and that the specific recall case was considered closed. i asked for a written declaration from chrysler's customer services, confirming that the recall repairs were completed satisfactorily and were executed in strict compliance with the recommendation issued by daimler chrysler's technical/engineering department. chrysler's customer services refused to honor my request. what recourse do i have if i still am uneasy about the repairs effected?  view

On 7/31 i had a tire pressure system fault error and took in for problem to be fixed. on 8/17 while driving vehicle i was shoved into steering wheel as far up as it would go and mirrors were going crazy on outside. i 'm three months pregnant and i already lost 2 of the 3 triplets i found out on 8/25. not sure if this is why or not. on top of that had another tire pressure system fault error. they put on machine and found 7 error codes and said they fixed, if it happened again to bring it back. on 8/30 the lights went nuts, the back liftgate almost crushed me in it. luckily, i got my head out from the bottom just in time before gate closed. the sensors/electrical system were not working. this is major to me, if one of my children had been back there and didn't think fast enough - i cringe to think that they would have been killed. i have a case open with ford right now as we speak. i'm so scared to get this vehicle back because that lift gate could have killed me and what if i get this back and they fix these 5 electrical problems they are working on now and then i find out the hard way that there are more. it seems they fix one problem and i have more. it's like one fix and it triggers more. please assist me anyway possible. i researched and according to ohio law they have one opportunity to fix the liftgate and if it doesn't then it is a lemon. however, i'm afraid they aren't going to be able to fix the electrical mess in this vehicle. all i want is my purchase price back. i'm paying over $1000 a month on this vehicle (which is more than my rent) and this is the most expensive car i have ever purchased and it is also the most dangerous. please help. sincerely, michelle c. jones  view
