1987 DODGE ARIES User Comment / Complaint

While driving at 35 mph passenger's side wheel came off. this caused loss of control.  view

Windshield wiper motor will not work on occasion. nearly wrecked last weekend when it stopped working in a hard rain.  view

Driver's seat reclined without warning while driving down the road (heard a snap and then the seat fell back). talked with the dealership - ended up having to replace the upper recline bracket bolt. the replacement of this bolt was not covered by extended warranty or safety.  view

I have a 1999 monte carlo that was purchased in mid 1999. ever since i purchased it and it rains, the wipers freeze in the middle of my windshield. this makes it very difficult to drive when it really rains or even night time rainy weather. over the past year or so, now it even does it when it snowed out. this has happened well over 10 times in the past 4 years that i have owned this vehicle. i have taken it in to several chevy dealerships and they all say the same thing "nothing seems to be wrong here. just keep an eye on it and let us know if we can help you with anything else..." i feel that they just don't want to look at my car, seeing that i am female. i get this impression because they only took about 5 minutes to look at it and came to that conclusion. is there anything that i can do, seeing now that my car is way out of warranty.  view

I have to push extra hard on the pedal to accelerate because it feels stuck. when and when the pedal finally gets loose, the car accelerates abrubtly.  view

While at a busy intersection, the vehicle engine revved and lurched forward requiring extra brake pressure to avoid collision. the rpms were over 1500 at a stop. this is the second incident and the dealer has been contacted.  view

The tumblers in my ignition failed and there were 4 other ford focuses that has been towed in to a ford place for the same reason. the key won't go all the way into the ignition to start the car and they had to replace the whole lock and key system in my car. i feel like it should be a recall on these cars ingnition switches for the tumblers failed .. my battery cable still get corroded and i thought they recalled those as well but they don't look changed at all. i recently bought a new battery and the car shakes a lot now than before. in my opinion, this car is nothing more than a piece of crap. i've only had it 3 years and it drives like i've had it 10 years. my mom has a brand new suv bought it the same year i bought mine. hers has more miles than mine does and hers is doing fine.  view

Last january i bought myself a 2003 jetta straight off the lot brand new. everything was going great up to october once the cold weather started to set in. the car is an automatic and when leaving it to sit for a period of time i would get in to drive the car and starting out when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear it would slam into gear. it was absolutly horrible and scary felt as if the car was going to bottom out. so i called the dealership and brought it in for a check, they told me there was nothing wrong with the car so i took it home again but the problem kept happening. so again come march i brought it back this time they had it for a whole wk and again told me nothing was wrong, so i brought it home again and again later on not even a week later it started to shift late again so i called again this time the service rep told me there was nothing more he could do for me. i called the vw company and they told me it was the wayi was driving the car "i was an aggressive driver". i called the bbb and opened up a claim and now again they have my car and i have a rental but again they are telling me there is nothing wrong with the car. never once has anyone apoligized. no automatic should slam into gear when driving it. they have done nothing to even try to fix the problem. all they keep doing it turning it around on me as if it is my fault the way i am driving the car.. i have done research on myvwlemon.com and i have found a million other customers with the same problem and informed barrys of this and they told me unless it is the exact same car same engine same style there is no case.. this is the absolutly the worst i have ever been treated from a company.  view
