1987 DODGE ARIES User Comment / Complaint

The cummings diesel engine. the vacuum pump couplings that are attached to the power steering unit which sits on two 1/4 pieces of steel and controls the front end of the vehicle are broken , resulting in no steering and braking. consumer contacted chrysler. however, no one will talk to consumer.  view

At slow speed when turning the steering wheel shakes and vibrates. consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. however, dealer is unable to correct the defect.  view

The vehicles plastic fuel tank cracked. the manufacturer refused to replace the fuel tank.  view

There is a safety campaign for the same type of tires but with a different load range. the tires on this vehicle lost air over several days. this problem has happened several times with these tires. dealers will not replace the tires. the tire lost air pressure for no apparent reason. when the tire failed, there was a lot of tread.  view

The headlights on our 1996 caravan are the type with a clear plastic or glass cover over the bulbs. over time, the clear covering has become very cloudy to the point that the headlights do not illuminate well enough to safely see at night. the lights are not damaged, the lenses are just not at all clear anymore. i thought the problem might be the headlight adjustment but our local dodge dealer tells us the problem is with the cloudy lens. they say the only repair option is to replace the light assemblies. our vehicle warranty is long since expired but i do not see this issue as one of warranty but rather safety. any reasonable person should be able to expect the headlights on a vehicle to illuminate a safe path as long as the vehicle is continued in service. i've contacted chrysler corporation and they say it is out of warranty and disagree with my safety complaint.  view

I have a 2002 hayabusa motorcycle. about a month ago when attempting to start the bike the starter gear would slip and i would hear an abnormally loud clanking sound. finally, i attempted to start the bike and the starter would not engage, (just spinning up). i had to have the bike towed ($75) to the dealer who is aware of the issue. when i called suzuki usa they refused to acknowledge the issue. after some research i discovered that the issue is discussed in technical service bulletin 126 issued by suzuki. they will upgrade the starter gear parts only when failure occurs. i feel they should issue a recall.  view

I purchased the car october, 2000 as a used car with a warranty. about two weeks later the car broke down and had to be towed to dealer that i bought it from. a rebuilt engine block was put in because of major oil problems. it took over a month for them to finish the repair. i was assured that it was ok. about 5 months later the car started leaking oil and i had to constantly watch the oil level. i was told by the same dealer that it was normal to have to watch the oil on a car that old. i got more concerned and called another dealer and was told that it was not normal so i took the car back to the dealer. i insisted that the car be looked at. again the engine block had to be replaced as something was not put on correctly (that is the excuse they gave me). this took about 2 weeks to repair. again i was assured that the car would last this time. the engine was under warranty at this time. three months later the engine light went on so i took it back again. they fixed that problem but i am not sure what they did at that time. i drove the car just over a year and just this week the car started smoking. i took it to the dealer and was told that there was major work on the engine that needed to be done but the warranty was out. it will be very expensive to fix it and so they did not want to do it. now i have a car that does not run without smoking and i still owe $7000 on it. i am very upset because it seems that they sold me a car with major problems that they never could fix.  view

Car has a problen in the steering box. took it to a specialist and ford discounted it. they sent a lincoln rep down and he just lied to me about the problem said it was a factory flaw and could not fix , then i took the car into the dealer for a pinging and they said they couldn't hear it (nothing was done)then later on a trip it went haywire sounded like a big diesel truck on the highway and ran like crap , sucking gas also, then changed dealers and they said they coulden't find a ping . i grabed me a mechanic and we took a little ride and before i could get it back it was pinging (took them 3 weeks to fix with me coming up almost daily to test it, and nobody can adjust the head lights on the car that is bad its idiot proof  view
