1989 PLYMOUTH RELIANT User Comment / Complaint

I have a 1993 dodge caravan. i have spent over $10,000.00 on repairs since i bought it new in 1993. i am extremely dissatisfied with dodge. i've had several recalls on various components, they were corrected and are now again defective including my seatbelts, abs system, and steering column. i am now noticing that the paint is eroding on the top of my van. i've seen many other dodge caravans with the exact same problem and the exact same pattern of corrosion. it appears the paint is wearing off on the tops of the cars, then the hoods and so on. it eventually rusts through as i've seen on at least 20 dodge caravans. i have never encountered paint wearing away like this on any other vehicles that i've owned and much older than 10 years. i believe there is a defect somewhere in the painting process, perhaps the primer or the paint itself. this is the third letter i've written and i have not received a response from anyone. i would appreciate an investigation into the painting process of these vans. i believe it is also occurring in other year models. thank you, susan deanfrasio.  view

Faulty wiring in brake light caused vehicle to catch on fire. gm has offered to repair but i still don't feel it is safe.  view

I saw on t.v. that the dodge durango's were having problems with the lower front ball joint. my dealer, nethaway's, checked the ball joint's on my vehicle and they are abnormally worn for a vehicle with 63125 miles. i informed dodge of this problem, and received no assistance in correcting the same.  view

Front brake pulsation. rotors machined at 13000, 18000 and problem keeps recurring. dodge will not admit any problems and will not repair under warranty as it is a wear item. this truck is less than a year old and only sees highway miles, not stop and go driving. the brakes are pulsating again at 22000 miles. what is the solution to this problem dodge? i've worked on cars for 15 years at gm. let me know what the problem is and i'll fix it myself if need be.  view

2003 thor tahoe travel trailer tongue/coupler failed on february 14, 2004. the trailer had less than 500 miles on it. it was purchased new from marjon rv in riverside in april 2003. the trailer was attached to our 2000 ford excursion with a weight distributing hitch that was installed by marjon rv. the accident would have been catastrophic at highway speeds.  view

Tsb 00-05-23-002a. dealer and manufacturer fails to repair problem. vehicle is unsafe to drive after approximately 5000 miles. must be repaired to fix safety issue. however, fix is only temporary.  view

I need to complain about the windshield on the mini cooper 2002. one week after i got my car, i was driving along and all of the sudden a chip appeared. i never saw or heard anything hit it. i have since gotten about 10 chips in my windshield. ever since i got the car, my windshield has creaked and made a lot of noise as if it were shifting around. this scares me so much! then, i had an appointment the following afternoon to get one chip fixed when the windshield creaked loudly and a crack went right down the middle. i honestly am afraid sometimes that my windshield is going to fly right off of my car!  view

* issue ** after filling the gas tank, fuel spewed out of the bottom of the vehicle, forming a puddle approximately 2 ft in diameter. eventually it slowed to a drip. i took it to shakopee dodge to fix the leak. $374.19 later, it's fixed. i called chrysler to argue that i shouldn't have to pay for this, as it's a safety concern. they chose not to support me, and said they could do nothing.  view
