1995 GMC C15 User Comment / Complaint

Consumer cited the poor quality of materials used for the upper intake manifold and poor design around the egr stove pipe. the upper and lower intake gaskets were leaking, however the consumer did not believe that the upper intake plenum was replaced and over time the intake gaskets leaked again.  view

2000 sub idles rough,misfires replaced plugs,wires, filter, battery, oxygen sensors and used heat. stalls until warms up. checked with decoder. no codes found. have no clue to problem. any ideas? fuel pump really loud. after a couple of minutes runs and idles fine.  view

The srs (air bag) light in my 1997 honda crv has been on for last 4 years. i have taken it to different dealers during this time. they initially just reset the light. later they suspected one of the sensors. even later one of dealer changed the battery. finally they have declared that the srs controller unit must be bad and should be changed at the cost of $825. i have contacted america honda corp but to no help. from the independent maintenance shop where i took my car i have learned that it is a common problem in crv. air bag are essential safety equipment and should carry longer warranty. honda diagnostic doesn't seem to give definite code also and hence the dealers can't fix it in one shot and have given me so many runs and now will cost me so much. i believe honda should live up to their responsibility and investigate the srs problem.  view

While driving, vehicle suffered a sidewall cut and sudden deflation of the right front tire. the consumer stated this was the third time the vehicle suffered sidewall damage, which required the replacement of the tires and wheels. the consumer believed the combination of the low profile tires and the design of the 17 inch wheels on a low speed roll of the wheel into a pothole can cause the tire to be pinched and cut or damaged by the rim of the wheel. the tire dealer and the acura dealer stated the tire failures were due to road hazards, however the consumer disagreed since the failure happened three times.  view

Dealership performed inspection on vehicle and a number of defects was seen. one particular defect was the steering box. consumer have been from one dealer to another but no replacement has been made. the consumer was waiting for the steering rack to be installed in the vehicle.  view

Consumer felt that his vehicle's rear suspension should be recalled because the newer models have better rear suspensions. when the wind blew, or the road was uneven especially in the mountains, it was very difficult to keep the vehicle straight, the problem only occurred at highway speeds. the dealer refused to upgrade the consumer's vehicle even though the consumer requested to pay. when the windshield wipers were off the rubber part of the blade sat partially on the glass and on the plastic below the glass, the rubber part of the blade had to be changed frequently in order to work properly when it rained or snowed. the tie rod broke while the vehicle was in the parking lot.  view

I bought a 2002 mercury mountaineer may 16th 2003 with approx 45,000 miles. about a week later we noticed that the shifting seemed to be jerky going from 2-3 gears. took it back into the person i bought it from and he called our local ford dealer who he purchased it from 2 days prior for me. they stated there were not bulletins out on the transmission. we had the transmission fluid checked and it appeared to be ok. a couple of months went by and then a soft shudder started when going to the next gears. i took it to a local transmission place and the tech stated that he had seen 2 of these incidents in the last 6 months. recommended i get rid of the vehicle as there was a flaw in the transmission design. in november of 2003 we had the transmission serviced (approx $250). cleared up the problem for a couple of months but reappeared and then went into a hard shift going to each gear. feb 2004 took it back to local ford dealer and they will charge me $2700 to replace my transmission with a rebuilt ford transmission. the real kicker is i bought this vehicle because my 2001 ford windstar's transmission went out and there was a service bulletin out on it too. i guess shame on me for continuing to buy ford.  view

Vibration in drivetrain at highway speed (between 65 -75 mph). only happens when truck is under power. as soon as you remove your foot from the pedal, the vibration goes away. drive shaft was replaced over 6 months ago, but that did not fix the issue.  view
