I have a 2002 dodge dokota sxt 2wd that has a clunking sound similar to that which i have heard described in regard to a front ball joint problem. i have spoking with other persons who also have 2wd dakotas and have hed to replace the ball joints well before they should be. i currently have 43,00 miles on the vehicle but the clunk has been present for several thousand miles and i was hoping there might be a recall before i have it fixed. i have no ride or handleing problems but just the clunk when i go over an object or onto a sidewalk to park.  view

I'm experiencing the same problem that is described in nhtsa campaign # 03v327000. specifically, my vehicle's hazard-light switches malfunction when there is a temperature change in the vehicle causing my turn signals to work intermittently or not at all. i contacted oldsmobile customer service and was told that because i have a 1999 alero, that model year was not included and therefore, they would offer no assistance with the repair. this problem frequently puts me in hazardous situations due to turn signals not working at times.  view

Only 260 miles on vehicle and check engine light came on. dealer stated check gas cap. stated it needs to "click" 3 times to tighten and seal. have performed task repeatedly with no change. while standing outside of vehicle, with vehicle running, can hear air sucking in through gas fill area. never had that happen on any other vehicle owned. noticed flapper valve at top of gas fill area is creased and does not seal like other manufacturers vehicles. worried that this air problem will cause future engine problems.  view

I parked my landrover discovery in the grocery store parking lot, pulled the key out and walked toward the store. after a crashing noise i turned around to see my car had rolled back into a van. my transmission was still in "drive" and i had been able to remove the key from the ignigtion. i called my landrover dealer. after explaining what happened i asked why the key could be removed in the "drive" position, he said he didn't know and would have to look into it. he then directed me to the collision center for repairs. the next day i found out from a friend with a discovery that his key can not be removed in "drive". when i called the dealer again he told me the key shouldn't have come out. when i questioned him as to why he didn't explain that to me the day before, he told me i had misunderstood. he was very evasive when i asked him why he had not told me to bring my car in to be checked. basically he blew me off. from there i investigated on my own by calling the ntsb on september 25th. after talking to a safety standard engineer i was directed to a complience engineer. i learned that according to the federal motor vehicle safety standard #114 no car should be able to remove the key from the ignition unless the transmission is in "park". i also called landrover north america. they helped expedite the situation. the service manager here found that it had been left in the "transit mode" from delivery overseas. he said the cars are suppose to be checked at port and at the dealership. they had failed to do the routine check and change the computer over. it took them 4 weeks to repair my car. landrover offerred to incure the $2500 cost. this could have been a very bad situation if my car would have rolled back and hit a person. i am dissapointed in the local dealer and how they handled the situation. i made a formal complaint to the dealership. and the ntsb has shown more interest than my local dealer.  view

While driving a 2000 newmar dutch star diesel pusher the right rear inside tire blew out with approximately 29,000 miles on the vehicle. i contacted michelin's consumer call center to inform them that this was the second blowout i experienced on this vehicle, and that both tires had the same manufacturing date code. they responded by asserting that the tire damage must have been caused by low tire pressure. when i maintained that pressure had never been low, they then responded that the tire must have been overloaded. i removed all six michelin tires from this motorhome and replaced them with goodyear tires. i have since driven this vehicle almost 40,000 additional miles without incident.  view
