While driving or accelerating from a complete stop the gear shifter pops out of gear into neutral. this occurred when the rubber boot around the gear shifter handle slides up. the dealership slid the boot back into place but the problem recurred. the dealer installed a new boot but the problem still occurred.  view

Problems with radio volume button, indicator light, and vehicle pulls to the left. vehicle pulled to the left when the consumer test drove it on 08/10/2002. dealer assured her it would be repaired. after about one week of driving the vehicle, it continued to pull to the left unless she held the steering wheel to the right and forced it to go straight 08/20/2002. on 09/24/2002 vehicle was taken to the dealership for problems with the door and srs light coming on and off while driving. on 10/24/2002 consumer drove the vehicle to the dealership again. they stated the problem was fixed. on 12/18/2002 the consumer insisted that the technician test drive the vehicle to experience the defect. technician did experience it and stated it needed to be fixed. the next day they informed the consumer an alignment was done to fix the "pulling to the left". as far as the srs light, there were no repairs at that time. consumer would be contacted to make an appointment for repairs. on 04/10/2003, consumer returned for routine maintenance and a total fix for the pulling to the left. consumer wanted a replacement vehicle.  view

My 1999 volvo s-80 t-6 suffers from a design flaw associated with the throttle body and engine warning light. the light is on all of the time. servicing does not clear the light, so i have begun to simply ignore the light. the throttle body has a problem where the engine runs properly for 20,000 then begins to oscillate upand down by 200-300 rmps at idle. this seems minor, but it almost caused a major accident yesterday. when slowing to a stop at a major intersection, the engine slowed to idle and then sped up just as i was about to come to a stop. the higher rpm caused the car to move into the intersection. if another car had been approaching, it would have struck my car. i asked my wife (this is her primary car)if she had experienced the same problem and she said she had several times. i went on the web and found that many volvo owners are experiencing the same rpm and engine light problems. i do not know if they have had the same near accident i did, but i must assume they have. have you received other complaints about this problem and has volvo been notified? i contacted volvo and they denied any problem. the words on the internet tell me they are mistaken. some one could get killed by this design flaw.  view

Transmission shifts without any action being taken by driver or anyone else, from 2 wheel drive mode into 4 wheel drive hi and then into 4 wheel drive lo. this has occured on three seperate occasions within the past year. all incidences have occurred at low speed from a previously parked or stopped position upon initial acceleration in overdrive. gm claims no responsibility for locating, identifying or repairing problem as per their customer service assistance department, because the vehicle is no longer under warranty and is eight years old.  view

2 weeks after purchase, floorboard was drenched and took to the dealership to be repaired.they said it was;however, the next big rain the car was drenched again. the car stayed for almost 2 weeks during which time, the mechanics could not "figure it out" and i was informed that some "experimental" fluid was used to try to stop the leak, but that did not work so it was being removed. the mechanics were putting it under the water hose to see if they could determine the leak. this was finally fixed, though i do not know what the cause may have been or what the final fix was done. 6 months later, the blinkers went out and were haphazard working. this was repaired under a different pontiac dealership as i was leery to "experiments." 3 months later, the check engine light was on or the check vehicle light, headlights were acting funny. dealership and was informed this was due to corrosion and was not covered under warranty. last week, the traction off light kept coming on, the headlights kept blowing bulbs, the service vehicle light was on, the cigarette lighter would not work, and the daylights and fog lights would not work at all. i was informed that the map sensor was covered under warranty, but the headlight control circuit control module was not covered. i was informed by dealer#2 that the faulty parts could have been caused by the prior water leakage. both the warranty company and dealer #2 told me that even though headlights and a lighting system was pertinent, there was nothing they could do to fix it at no cost to me. dealer #2 fixed the map sensor and i picked up the vehicle. now other problems after map repai. since the car was waterlogged and it is only logical that any water damage should be covered by someone. i called dealer#1 and explained the situation. at this time, when they pulled up the record of the car, i was informed the water leakage was on a service bulletin i did not go put my car in the lake and i did not ask for this kind of hassle.  view
