When the consumer receiving the trailer he noticed that the roof was coming apart. the consumer sent the trailer back to the dealership to be repaired. the dealership replaced the roof but the roof is coming apart again. this occurred during the trip from the dealership in maryland to the consumer in maine. the cause of the roof coming apart is yet to be determined.  view

While driving 40 mph the vehicle jumped the curb and hit a wooden telephone pole. the front air bags did not deploy. the telephone pole broke in half due to the impact of the vehicle. the driver was transported to the emergency room for broken fingers and bruises. the vehicle could not be driven or repaired. please provide further details.  view

Problems with frame on 2003 sundance softail. the dealer/manufacturer stated that the frame was not aligned properly and would not track on the highway. the frame was taken to an uninterested third party and placed on a laser frame machine. the results supported the dealer/manufacturer evaluation. the manufacturer would not respond to the consumer.  view

Problems with vehicle losing power due to melted plastic connector wire. the electrical wiring failed at the gas tank connector which melted due to excessive heat creating a potentially hazardous problem. the vehicle lost power. this gave an indications that the problem was a faulty fuel pump.  view

There is a rattling noise in passenger side door. and at time it is hard to close. when the vehicle reached 43 mph a humming noise could be heard. the humming continued when the vehicle reached 59-72 mph. the technicians replaced the drive shaft twice but the noise continued. there was a roaring noise which came from the wheel area. the dealer adjusted the park brake shoes. the was noise the steering wheel was turn right or left. the technician added a wheel additive. the passenger door was difficult to close. the dealer adjusted the striker. the front windshield weather strip was loose. the dealer resealed it. the was rattling in the center of the dash. the dealer removed and reinstalled a cluster and reinstalled the insulation. the driver side seat belt twisted.  view

While driving at any speed with the air conditioning (a/c) on there is a constant dripping of fluid on the passenger's side vehicle. while the a/c is off the dripping is more profuse. manufacturer and the dealer will be notified of the problem.  view

While driving driver noticed smoke coming under the hood. pulled vehicle over and checked. noticed coolant was leaking on the intake manifold. took vehicle to dealership. mechanic had not determine the cause of the leakage.  view

My 1996 oldsmobile aurora exhibited an extremely strong gasoline odor while driving home and, especially, after being stored overnight in my garage. it was found by the dealer that the hoses in the fuel system have deteriorated and are leaking gasoline. dealer indicated that this was a known problem and that general motors has done nothing to address the problem. a potentially explosive situation could have occurred in that the vehicle was stored in my garage overnight and the fumes could have been ignited by the pilot flame of a gas water heater located in the garage.  view

The engine port holes are not large enough to allow the oil to flow through. this results in the engine burning out. engine had been replaced 3 times, but a solution was not found.  view

The consumer smelled smoke while traveling with the driver's side seat heater on. the consumer opened the driver's side window and the driver's seat caught on fire and burned the consumer.  view

Problems with transmission malfunctioning. when the vehicles accelerator pedal was pressed it became stuck to the floor of the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a dealer who indicated that the insulator cap fell off. the technician said this was a common problem with these vehicle.  view

Windshield wiper board was replaced with a new one. after the repair windshield wipers didn't start to operate until 20 seconds after turning the switch on. dealer indicated that this was how the windshield wipers were suppose to function.  view

Consumer noticed that vehicle had a low coolant level. took the vehicle to the dealer, who determined that the intake manifold was cracked, and had to be replaced.  view

The customized headlight lens deteriorated after a period of time and fogged up. when this occurred it reduced the light illumination and caused poor visibility.  view

Vehicle's air bag failed on 1996 dodge grand caravan. in april 2001 the vehicles air bag light illuminated and remained on. the vehicle was taken to the dealer who indicated that the air bag failed. the dealer replaced the air bag along with the clockspring. the consumer paid $842.92 for the replacement. in january 2001 the consumer received a recall notice related to the clockspring assembly. the manufacturer was contacted and reimbursed the consumer $152. which they deemed was enough to cover the clockspring assembly. the consumer contested the amount of the reimbursement but has not heard from the manufacturer regarding the matter.  view

Vehicle is leaking fuel onto the ground due to a defective hose that was located near fuel tank and generator.  view

In october of 1998 vehicle was repaired under a recall for the intake manifold. currently, the vehicle overheated due to a crack in the intake manifold. when the intake manifold is replaced, the old style is used which is why the consumer believes it fails again. consumer feels ford should reimburse him the cost of repairs.  view

Pe 03-032, front suspension/upper ball joint failure: while the consumer was having a front end alignment the mechanic noticed the upper ball joints were showing premature wear.  view

Engine light comes on during a road trip with my daughter to woodfield,oh from columbus. mechanic says i'm lucky the engine didn't blew up before i got there. mechanic says there was only a pint of oil in my car yet i saw no signs of oil burning or leaking and an oil change had been done earlier in the year. mechanic puts new oil in, scans and resets the car so the engine light doesn't stay on. after that, i started my trip back home and everything seems fine, then 10-15 minutes in the trip the engine light comes back on so i turn around and head back to the mechanic. on the way back i could feel the engine kicks back and almost stall out. again, i was lucky to make it back to the mechanic. while car is parked and engine is running, you could hear the engine revving up and then it would idle back down. it would do this a few times and then stall out. mechanic does another evaluation and determines that a new engine is needed and the car cannot be driven. a week later i got my car towed back to columbus (the car broke down in woodsfield, oh) and had it checked again by a mechanic in columbus. they told me the same thing that the engine needs replaced because the water pump housing is damaged and there is no coolant in the overflow and felt that i could not have prevented this. so i called around to get estimates on replacing the engine and every place i called, they said that they've had lots of complaints about the dodge intrepid's 2.7 liter engine. they say that the oil is not getting to the top of the engine. one place told me they replaced this engine almost once a week. so now i'm stuck with having to come up with several thousand dollars to replace a faulty engine. the fact that the safety of my daughter and i was jeopardized because this is becoming a common problem, and that there isn't even an investigation going on, leaves me very upset. i hope something will be done about this soon.  view

Both my tailgate cables snapped at the same time on my 2002 chevy avalanche on a boy scout camp out. two of the fathers (about 400 lbs) were sitting on the tailgate when they both snapped. lucky that they landed on their feet and did not get hurt. both look like they are black and corroded from the inside. snapped at the same place on both cables.  view

My passenger vehicle has a crack developing in the dash on the left side of the passenger air bag. this crack is about 5-6 inches long and appears to be growing. it is in line with what appears to be a slight depression where the air bag is located. this cannot be repaired by any cosmetic means due to the possibility of rendering the air bag ineffective. the dealer says it is not covered by any warranty or service recall. they will replace it for a mere #1100.00 plus. i don't understand why the safety devices are required to be installed in the cars when they are new but they are not covered by any warranty standard that requires the devices to be functional beyond the day you purchase the vehicle? for me as a customer this neither protects me by assuring my personal safety nor does it protect me financially. this is a rip off. could any independent manufacturer survive building these devices and selling them under conditions that they will most likely to fail before you need them and cost a bundle to repair and that includes no warranty.  view

I own a 1999 dodge durango and the wheel bearings just collapsed on it. it collapsed on the highway and my wife didn't loose control but it did almost cause her to have a accident. she was able to get it safely off the highway. it has been diagnosed and to the tune of $1800.00 for repair to the front end because of this damage caused damage to other front end parts.  view

The dealership refused to perform the hydraulic anti-skid system recall (96v099000) because the vehicle passed a pressure test. the brakes failed twice which resulted in extended stopping distance. the abs and service brakes warning light came on at the time of the 2nd brake failure.  view

Problems with spark plugs blowing out on a 1999 ford f-250. the consumer stated the spark plug blew out of the head on the right side of the engine. ford refused any assistance toward the three thousand dollar bill.  view

While driving 65 mph the passenger side rear tire tread separated from the side wall. the cause of the problem has not been determined. when the tire was taken to firestone they determined that the tire had a flat but the consumer stated it was not a flat tire because it exploded.  view

Nhtsa recall 03-v-352-000: on certain passenger vehicles, fuel leaks may develop at the fuel distributor assembly, either at its service port or at the main fuel tube assembly connector to the fuel distributor assembly intake port because of quality deviations in the service port valve or main fuel tube assembly. dealers will inspect and replace the fuel distributor and fuel connector assemblies. "kia has not yet provided an owner notification schedule". owners should contact kia at 1-800-222-5500. manufacturer stated they didn't know anything about a recall. recall#03v352000  view

The 2.7 liter engine on my 1999 chrysler intrepid failed due to excessive sludge buildup. though the owner's manual states an oil change interval of 7,500 miles, i changed mine much more frequently. upon complaint to the manufacturer, they refused to offer any sort of settlement or satisfaction or even to discuss it further.  view

My son is 27 months old, 32 lbs and in a graco child safety seat purchased in 2003. he is able to easily unbuckle the buckle securing the two harness straps together at his chest. i went to purchase a different style car seat that did not have the one-hand release of the buckle but found they all were like that. this is a safety concern if he would be only partially buckled if we were in an accident. it also is quite a distraction trying to make sure he is still buckled while i'm driving and then trying to convince him to buckle up again after he has already unbuckled. while at toys r us looking for a different car seat or at least something i could cover the buckle with so he would not be able to unbuckle, the clerk told me that there have been many other parents at the store with the same problems. this style of one-handed buckle release is okay until the child figures out how easy it is for him/her to undo it.  view

There was an egg smell within the cabin and on the outside of the vehicle. the smell was worse when the heat was on. the smell made the occupants nauseous and sick. the dealership was unable to identify what caused the smell but has given a lot of scenarios.  view

1997 mitsubishi gt 3000 - defective chrome wheels flake, peel and wear inside so that a seal cannot be maintained. constantly, inflate tires where of a horrific safety hazard. stranded with flats. expensive chrome wheels came standard with this vehicle. mitsubishi has so far elected to replace only one of 4 wheels that have severe wear and affect reliability and drivable of the car.  view

While driving at 30mph on a well paved road, heard a loud bang. two seconds later, another loud noise was heard, and the blazer tilted to the left like have a blown tire. luckily, we were going at slow speed and managed to pull the blazer to the curb. after told to the nearby service station, the mechanic said the upper ball joint on the front driver side was pulled off the socket. subsequently, the wheel rim was cut and tire was blown. after learning that there was a recall of this kind on 1996 blazer, i called gm and gave the vin. the customer service said my vehicle is not in the recall list and there is nothing he can do. the car is well maintained, oiled and lubricated every 3000 miles. i cannot imagine if this had happened on the free way. this is a dangerous defect that all blazer owner shall know.  view

Head gasket failure on 1994 ford mustang 3.8l with 50,360 miles. although ford stated that they mailed a letter regarding other complaints of this failure, i never received it nor was i notified by the dealer when the vehicle was in for recall work. ford now states that the program expired on my vehicle and i have no recourse other than to have it fixed on my own.  view

After suffering through months of illness caused by a noxious smell, we have researched and found that our v8 toyota 4 runner's catalytic converter emits oxides of sulfur (so2, hs2, etc.) on the matter of sulfur dioxide alone, we found that according to the epa, so2 contributes to respiratory illness, particularly in children and the elderly, and aggravates existing heart and lung diseases. people with asthma are particularly affected by peak levels of so2. as i am pregnant, have asthma, and use this vehicle to transport my 4-year-old on a daily basis, i am deeply concerned by gresham toyota's refusal to address this potentially hazardous health situation.  view

Nearly every part of transmission was worn out due to pump not supplying fluid as required. car only has 35,000 miles on it & has been driven by my mother who is now 88 yrs. old. car always service per manual. service man states this was a defective transmission from factory.  view

My 1994 jeep cherokee front passenger rotor broke into two pieces because of excess rust. when i braked the car pulled very hard to the left. it was very difficult and dangerous for me to brake. when i looked up recalls for 1994 jeep cherokee's, cars purchased and registered in virginia are not part of the nhtsa campaign id number 99v340000, but maryland and dc cars were on the recall list. i live 5 miles from maryland/dc. you should put all states on this recall. i could have killed someone or died yesterday.  view

2000 chevrolet impala intermediate steering shaft failure. defective steering part that chevrolet refuses to acknowledge and fix. replaced part in 2001, replaced part in 2002, filled part with grease in 2003. this part is defective and should be redesigned and provided to all customers that purchased these vehicles at no cost to the consumer.  view

Rear passenger tire suffered tire tread separation while driving at 65 mph. the consumer heard a slapping/banging noise that had come from the rear underneath the vehicle. the consumer pulled to the shoulder and discovered the rear tire had come off as if it were sliced. the consumer was denied reimbursement because the manufacturer concluded the tire was being operated for an unknown period of time with insufficient air pressure  view

Consumer heard while traveling at any speed a loud grinding noise coming from front end of vehicle. dealer serviced indicated that front wheel bearing needed to be replaced.  view

The vehicle went over a puddle of water and lost control.. driver's side seat belt unfastened at that point. vehicle then rolled over four times. upon impact, air bags did not deploy. driver was ejected through the windshield, and sustained a broken collar bone and three broken ribs. also passenger in the front seat sustained internal head and back injuries.  view

The rear passenger seat belt became stuck in the power sliding door causing the door to jam. the door could not be opened from the inside or outside. the vehicle is currently with the dealer being repaired. please provide any further details.  view

Front lap seat belts do not retract after releasing buckets. belts hang loose along side outer seat area door. dealer notified.  view

Consumer stated that after recall repairs were performed vehicle was in poor condition because technician left some parts out.  view

Consumer noticed while making a left turn turn signal started smoking. dealer serviced vehicle, and technician replaced function switch.  view

Consumer stated while applying force to brakes front end of vehicle dropped to ground due to out of round rotors.  view

Independent shop replaced the intake plastic manifold, coolant went inside engine.  view
