1996 DODGE VIPER User Comment / Complaint

The vehicle wipers failed intermittently. a recall was issued, however the vehicle was outside the remedy scope. please provide any additional information.  view

Without warning, i.e. squealing, sounds, etc., i experienced increased stopping distance when i pressed the brakes to avoid a collision. when i returned the car to the dealer/service, they stated that the front pads are metal to metal. the car has 89,000 miles and the brakes and portions of the braking system have been replaced on average every 8,000 miles. this has been the eleventh time that there has been brake problems with this car. the front brake pads are being worn prematurely. there is usually a lot of brake dust and crystallized or solid material falling from the front brake pads. the dealer/mechanic/service has stated various reasons for the brake failures each time, but the problem is never resolved. this car has abs.  view

1994 lexus ls400 with bad instrument panel. the panel fails to light up below 55-60 degrees. safety hazard.  view

The electronic brake control module failed on my 1999 silverado 4x4 ext. cab. the vehicle only had 48,500 miles when the part failed. i would think gm should recall the part being it is part of a critical piece of the braking system. to replace the part would cost nearly $1000.00.  view

The vehicles seat belt buckles were inoperative. please provide any additional information.  view

I purchased a new 2001 ford range in nov of that year. the truck came with a hard fiberglass bed cover. it has a locking system and a safety latch at the inside of the top. this safety latch failed when i was in the bed and the top shut down. i have contacted ford about the problem. they have said it is not their responsibility to fix this as they claim it is an aftermarket accessory. the truck was brought into the dealer before the original warranty was up. the top is listed in the owners manual and it was part of the truck at the time of purchase. if my kid's had been locked inside the situation could have been worse.  view

I have noticed a grinding and squeaking sound when i push on my brakes. i will have to replace my brake pads again for the fourth time. the place where i buy them from has informed me that this is an unusually high number of brake pads for a car that is only 3 years old.  view
