1990 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO User Comment / Complaint

While having vehicle serviced technician noticed cracks between all four tire treads.  view

Right turn signal periodically sticks "on" (not flashing) when commanded and sometimes comes "on" (not flashing) when the ignition is started. if left "ono" (not flashing) for more than 30-45 seconds, smoke comes out of the steering column. the smoke stops as soon as the light goes off.  view

The spare tire (donut) on my 2001 chevrolet s-10 pickup, has a 3/8 inch gouge in the sidewall, caused by the way the tire is secured to the undercarriage of the truck. when the cable that secures the tire to the frame is tightened so the tire is secure, it drives the tire into the frame where it wears a groove into the sidewall. i am reluctant to use the tire, as it looks like it would not perform as required.  view

The vehicle was parked in the driveway with park brake engaged when the vehicle rolled out into the street due to a faulty ignition.  view

Three times during the month of august vehicle violently jumped forward into traffic. dealer said there was a problem with a valve in the transmission. windows squeak when rolled down. steering wheel boot was not in place.  view

On august 12, 2003 while parked on a slight incline, the car would not get out of gear. this had occurred once before, however, another jaguar owner had this problem and reported she call a tow truck and when the car was removed from the incline the car went into gear. so, when it first happened to me, which was a couple of weeks prior to 08-12-03, i pushed it, it rolled and went into gear. well, the next time it happened it wouldn't get into gear, and the gear shifter broke. now, the car woujld go into gear and not move at all. had to call a tow truck on that saturaday to be towed to the service center. well, today is august 18, 2003 i am reporting this. the car is still in the shop. there was a "backlog" per the service center for this part. the "gear shifter" and/"transmission shifter". in plain common sense if parts of this nature are on such a backlog, then i would assume there is a problem with the issue of the transmission in this model jaguar. we need satisfaction as a consumer. i even have extended warranty with "smartchoice 2000", and they are in liquidation. the service center is telling me i am not insured and i have a contract stating so. that is another issue that will be complained about.  view

Our camry ran fine until firestone did a radiator flush/oil change etc. they used recycled antifreeze. 8 days later our water pump/timing belt/radiator cracked/head gaskets blew. there was no water/fluid evidence at breakdown. mechanic thinks firestone did improper fill/did not fill radiator. firestone says head gaskets went out. again no fluid in radiator at all, nothing on road. please advise asap!!! we traveled about 800 miles in 8 days following firestone's work. no temp. light went on.  view

We own a dodge ram 3500 diesel truck. the transfer pump has quit working twice now. this time it dies right in the middle of the road and there was a near fatal experience. two semi almost hit us, we couldn't get it to restart. had to have it towed to the dealership. this has happened twice now.  view
