1986 MERCURY COLONY PARK User Comment / Complaint

Air bag light stays on. scanner says do not drive. passenger side air bag. called gm and they said there are no recalls on air bags. i noticed that there was a similar problem with the 1999 air bags on drivers side. has anyone else had a complaint? the air bags should have a lifetime warranty.  view

Vehicle shifts hard into second gear then transmission slips while in second gear. progressively getting worse.  view

The driver side rear firestone tire on my 1988 chevrolet scottsdale pick-up had the tread separate from the tire while traveling east on i-10 in tallahassee. i was going approx. 65 mph. the tread slapped the rear side of my truck bending and damaging it, and then wrapped around the axle under the vehicle. i just barely managed to keep control of the vehicle. luckily the tire slowly deflated "after" the incident.  view

Oil sending sensor comes on stating i have to much oil this has gone on since i purchased the car in 2001 i have taken it back three times but the mechanic claims there are no codes.  view

There was a problem with the ignition switch, the key became hard to turn, and then all of a sudden there was a burnt wire smell coming from the steering wheel, and a burn hole was on the side of the steering wheel column, several weeks later, the consumer received a recall notice regarding the ignition switch.  view

The vehicle experienced problems with the brake pads and rotors. with less than 16000 miles the consumer has replaced the pads and rotors three times. the manufacture and dealer were contacted and changed the pads and rotors one time for free but the other two times the consumer had to pay.  view

While backing out of the driveway, the front bumper had fallen off. the all wheel drive light was intermittent, there was a vibration in the transmission when accelerating-(could not duplicate), and the service engine light soon had come on. scc  view
