Rear brakes failed.  view

Upon making a slight lane correction at approx. 60 mph, my daughter's 2002 jeep libety began swerving uncontrollably. she felt no resistance to the steering wheel as she tried to stop the swerving. at no time did she apply the brakes. witnesses said it appeared she had a flat tire. eventually, the vehicle entered the grass median and rolled 2.5 or 3.5 times coming to rest on the roof facing on-coming traffic. the complete rear end(tires and differential) separated and ended up approx. 75 feet from the vehicle. the right front axle or cv joint was broken. neither her passenger or her air bags deployed. the driver's seat belt was broken at the end of the motion of the rolling. both occupants were bruised and cut. we believe the axle failed and caused this potentially fatal accident. this vehicle had approx. 3000 miles on it. at 1800 miles the engine had thrown a rod and the engine was replaced completely. the jeep liberty is structurally unsound and of poor design particularly in the area of the rear suspension. daimler-chysler has lowered the suspension in obvious response to roll over incidents...  view

Automatic transmissions problems still persist. transmission has been replaced three times already. each time there is a new occurrence of problems. for this latest transmission when driving in congested traffic areas where the transmission does not always go to the next gear, it will "lag" and fall back to the lower gear as if the brake was being applied very hard. took the car to the service center and was told by the mechanic that the "transmission is shifting through all of its points normally". i indicated to them this is not the reason when i came to them. they ignored my reasons for coming to them and they then proceeded to claim that its normal for the transmission to "hang" and fall back due to "the computer getting confused as to what gear to go to". as a result its normal for the transmission to "lag" or "hang". i have never experienced this problem with the other two transmissions i had....so, this is anything but normal !!!  view

After the 1st year routine nys inspection, i was required to replace the rear brakes. dealer and subsequent call to pontiac both indicated that the material used on brake pads wear more quickly since they are no longer made of the asbestos material. granted at 22000 miles it was sooner than expected. i was also told that due to failure to rotate my tires at the 6000 mile mark, i had to replace 2 tires due to wear. dealership would not pass the nys inspection without completing the work... am i to expect a brake replacement yearly?  view

Consumer states while traveling 45-55 mph and without any indication passenger side air bag deployed. because the airbags deployed it cost the consumers over $2000.00 worth of damages. consumer dealer notified because they were concerned about the defective airbags and they should not be held responsible for cost of repairs.  view
