The gas gauge malfunctions. (often stops and drops to empty, causes low fuel light to signal-until the gauge returns to it's proper reading, this occurs when the tank is about three quarters full, and will read empty when the tank is full) scc  view

I own a 1998 chevy venture with the 3.4l engine. i am constantly loosing antifreeze and oil disappears with explanation. i am still under a warranty but the dealership says it cant find anything wrong with it. i am concerned that my engine might seize or fail while driving down the interstate due to a design flaw in the intake manifold gasket. the coolany that chevy uses dexcool has been known to eat away the gaskets, so large a scale has this happened that gm has switched coolants to prestone extended life. i want a recall done free of charge to fix this problem. it is definitly a safety issue as most have complained about cams breaking and loss of power. someone is going to die because of this.  view

Low coolent. took to the dealer at 40,000 miles for problem. dealer replaced manifold intake gaskett. at 42,000 vehicle heated to luke warm temperature. returned to dealer at 45,000 miles. dealer replaced radiator and thermostat. dealers explination: "the weekest area was originally replace which lead to other problems down the line"!!!!  view

I bought a vw new beetle in feb 2001. after a year and half, the car began to start roughly and shaky, and with the check engine light flashing at the same time. this phenomenon happened more requently and was getting worse later. the car lost most of it power while driving. so i drove to vw/audi bernadi dealer in natick, ma in september 2002 to have it fixed. it was found out it was caused by an ignition coil failure and it is a known defect. they replaced the bad coil but left the other three untouched. i am very worried about this. i drive through highway to my office everyday. i don't want to stuck in the hightway in the cold wind waiting for a towl truck. my warranty is going to expire soon, and i don't know whether the vw dealer will fix the possible next failure of ignition coil free of charge. seeing an article from boston globe, i know that i am not alone. http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/026/auto/no_easy_fix_for_failing_ignition_coils_in_audis_vws+.shtml would you please order vw to recall all the defective ignition coils? thanks a lot for your time.  view

While driving approximately 70 mph on highway, the vehicle stalled 4 separate times, which resulted in loss of power steering and brake control. dealer advised the problem was corrected, but was unable to guarantee the vehicle would not stall again. after the vehicle was picked up it stalled 15 times.  view

Vehicle was leaking transmission fluid initially. took it to dealership. first time dealership sent us home with a really bad transmission leak for weekend. informed us not to drive more than 200 miles. we informed them we live 60 miles away and would need to get home and back to dealership on monday. no rental car was offered. when taken back to dealer for repairs they replaced differential. two weeks later we noticed leaking again and the car wa shifting funny. we took the car in for repairs. they replaced the transmission. we approached both the manufacturer and the dealership about an extended warranty on the transmission, both refused. about a year later i received a letter in the mail regarding a warranty extension for the transmission for all 2001 honda accords. apparently i was not the only consumer who was sold a lemon. dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut-over to artemis------------------770780.  view

Speedometer and braking lights failed without warning while driving. also vehicle would not shift above 2nd gear. dealer diagnosed that electronic control module(ecm) was flooded with gasoline due to a defective leaking fuel injector. dealer recommended that consumer replace all 8 injectors because they are exhibiting the same potential to fail/leak. harness, cpi fuel, meter, vcm, core return, seal and switch assembly were replaced.  view

My 1996 mazda 626 transmission burned up approximately 100 miles into a road trip to houston. the transmission had been rebuilt in dec 2001 and only had 11,000 miles put on since the repair. i brought the car to a mechanic in houston who said the transmission would have to be replaced, at around $2200. i called my dealer in austin and was told to bring the car back to them and if the transmission was failing we would contact mazda and maybe they would work with me on the cost. i had the car towed back to austin and left it at the dealer. the next morning the service writer calls to tell me all my transmission needed was a "cooler" installed and i would be good to go. although i felt this could not be anything but a band-aid, i paid for the repair and went on my way. i decided to do some research and found countless stories similar to mine on the internet. mazda was aware of this transmission problem when the transmission was rebuilt and should have offered me the cooler then. i did complain to the general manager of the dealer and he reimbursed me for the cooler. my purpose in filing this complaint is just to get the word out there about these crummy transmissions. i used to believe mazdas were reliable, safe cars but my confidence has been shaken. i plan to sell the car and buy another kind of vehicle just for peace of mind.  view

I purchased my vehicle used, and since then, the windshield wipers came on without warning, and at the oddest times. also, my airbag light turned on and my horn stopped working because of it. suddenly, about 3 months ago, the car started smoking. i took it to get it serviced and asked them to check the source of the smoking. the service men told me that it was because the vehicle was burning oil. i was told by other mechanics, after the fire that i describe below, that if the vehicle burns oil, the smoke would be temporary, and it would go away after it burns off. well... it didn't, and this is what happened: on april 20th, i parked my car on the outdoor parking lot of the whole foods market, in glendale, ca. i heard an announcement over the pa, that there was an emergency in the south parking lot, and that everyone there should move their car. i was parked in the south lot. on the way out, a lady told me that there was a car on fire, and the fire dept was on its way. i continued on my way outside, and when i got to the parking lot, i saw that it was my vehicle. the fire did not burn through the firewall, but everything under the hood was destroyed. the fire dept from glendale, sent an arson investigator, since the car was parked and there had been some car fires in the area. turns out, the arson investigator tells me, that the fire was caused by something electrical. the van did not overheat. everything seemed fine, until the thing caught fire on sunday.  view

Transmission failure occurred at 58,822 miles on the 2000 dodge grand caravan i own. the problem with my transmission was that the splines of the front planetary stripped because they were made with a softer metal than the underdrive clutch hub. i feel this is a design flaw that daimler chrysler should address. when i contacted daimler chrysler, i was told the problem was my fault, because i had not changed the transmission fluid at the recommended service interval, and i was 22,000 miles outside of warranty. however, there is not a transmission fluid i am aware of that will make those splines stronger. ts  view

Vehicle was "totaled" due to a collision, by another vehicle on passenger's side of consumer's car. consumer's vehicle was traveling approximately 40-50mph at time of impact. passenger "side air bag" did not deploy. however, the driver's front, side and passenger front air bags did deploy.  view

My brand new 2003 saab 9-3 with 1100 miles on it, failed me. i was in the middle of making a right turn in rush hour traffic, and my engine quit - the engine light came on, power steering and power brakes were off so it made the car incredibly heavy to turn. i was able to coast into a parking lot without getting hit, but it was still terrifying. i turned the key off, and started the car right back up, drove it to the dealership a mile away where it's been awaiting a "software upgrade" for 5 days. on www.edmunds.com i found that several owners of 2003 saab 9-3s have experienced the same thing. how dangerous!  view

Had the drivers side power window repaired today, as well as passenger front side window repaired in july 2002. both window regulators had to be replaced at a cost of approximately $700 for both. the mechanics informed me this is a very common problem with this vehicle, which would seem to show a major manufacturer defect. please pursue a recall repair on this vehicle so customers can be properly compensated.  view

Chrysler knows they have evaporator failures due to inferior coils that last less than 4 years. they need to extend the warranty to cover this cost to the consumer. i will never buy another jeep cherokee.  view
