The brakes will not operate to stop the vehicle normally when driven in the rain at highway speeds. the pedal will get hard like there is no power brakes working. after you ride the brake with considerably more effort the brakes will return to normal and slow the car. if they are needed in an emergency situation, they are useless. the car was brought to the dealer when new. the rotors where changed but the problem persists. to this day i have to anticipate the problem when in the rain so as not to get into trouble from it. i think the company knows this is a problem since on the next year designed car the brakes where made much bigger. both in the brake rotor size and the caliper and brake sixe. i am an a.s.e. certified master mechanic so i know what i'm speaking about. contact me if you like and i can explain more.  view

The windshield wiper motor has quit functioning on 4 different occassions during the past year, and everytime, naturally, it has been raining or snowing. i have talked to other 96 and 97 blazer owners and about half have had their wiper motors replaced indicating to me a basic design flaw. the dealer said it was the first case he's heard of a tap on the motor case brings the dead motor back to life. dt  view

After purchasing a new sienna in march my driver side power sliding door failed in may. the driver side power door ecu was replaced. 10 days later the door failed again, this time the door was adjusted and reinitialized. as i tested the door at time of pickup the door failed again. the rear latch pin switch was replaced and the door was reinitialized. the door worked fine until failure july 31st. some adjustments were made and the door was reinitialized, at time of pickup august 5th the door failed again. a field tech from toyota found loose pins in the door and the main battery power level was low. the pins were fixed and the alternator belt was replaced with a heavier one to increase the main battery power. hopefully this will solve the problem as i fear door malfunction with my children's safety my main concern!  view

Since approximately march of 2002 i have experienced four seperate incidents where my truck suddenly accelerated. each time i was moving slowly using the engine idle speed to propel the truck forward when the truck suddenly accelerated. twice i was pulling into my garage, once pulling into a instant oil change station once pulling into a car wash. each time i was able to stop the truck before striking anything using the brakes. pulling into the oil change station i was very startled as the mechanic was guiding me into the stall and if i had not reacted as quickly as i did i'm certain would have been injured. i contacted the dealer by telephone and they stated that no one had reported any similar incidents. i also had the truck examined by another ford dealer and they could not locate any "codes" nor could they duplicate the problem. i have owned more than 25 vehicles during my lifetime and this is a first for me. this is also my second ford expedition, nothing like this has ever happened with that truck either. i hope to resolve this problem before someone gets injured by my vehicle or another expedition. thank you for your interest, michael t. adamczak. dt  view
