Ford extended warranty on 3.8 l engine for 1995 model due to engine failure caused by defective gasket sets. however, is not doing so for like failure on 1996 model 3.8 l engines. engine seized on our vehicle with approximately 48000 miles despite maintenance and timing chain gasket set replacement an approximately $1200 repair. dt  view

I was driving through town, easton ma, and the engine sputtered a bit. next, a kid hailed me down and i saw smoke from my rear. i pulled into the nearest parking lot and opened the hood. the engine compartment was in flames. good thing i kept my distance because parts blew apart. called the fire department and they put out the fire. the tow truck driver told me that he saw two other gm vehicles just like mine (3.8 liter) also burn up. i junked the vehicle. wrote to gm, but recieved no response. just saw on cars.com that the government is raising an investigation on the gm 3.8 liter engines. it really hurts losing $13,000. things could have been much worse if that kid didn't warn me. no wonder they discontinued the delta 88. is there any way i can be compensated for my loss? dt  view

My 1998 plymouth breeze was found to have a leaking head gasket. this seems to be a problem with other similar car engines, but i did not know this until the repairs were begun. i contacted chrysler several times only to be told that they could not help me. i attempted to follow their recommendations, only to be told that i had been misinformed by their employees. needless to say, this situation is extremely frustrating. if more details are needed, please contact me. dt  view

The car died while driving on three separate occassions. twice i was on the freeway at 70-75 mph when the vehicle lost power, resulting in a struggle to turn the vehicle onto a side lane of the freeway (once i was going 30 mph, in city streets and was again barely able to avoid an accident by struggling to turn the car into a side street when the vehicle lost power). on each of these incidents, i was unable to restart the vehicle for a time period of 10 minutes, the starter would crank but not turn over. the three incidents all occurred on the same day. i turned the vehicle in to gm to review and they stated nothing wrong and gave my car back unfixed. 3 weeks later, i was going to start my car and again the vehicle would crank but not turn over. upon taking it back to gm, they discovered the fuel filter was bad and burnt out the pump. they replaced both. i further learned the same service station had to replace similar parts on another 2002 malibu within the past week. dt  view

1- lower intake manifold side gaskets failed, allowing coolant to leak into engine oil and cylinders, causing engine hydrolock. issue is addressed by ford with tsb article no. 99-20-7. 2- engine front cover gasket failed in line with recall 99b29. ford does not include my truck, built 03/1996, in recall campaign 99b29 indicating the original recall has been inadequate. dt  view

The vehicle pulled to the right and left and failed to stop when brakes were applied. the dealer replaced the rotors and brake pads, but the problem was not corrected. as the result of the brakes failure, the consumer lost control of the vehicle and was injured and the vehicle was damaged.  view
