1990 GMC C SERIES(LIGHT) User Comment / Complaint

Third door latch lever failed. door can not be opened. this is a severe safety hazard as any passengers in the rear of the extended cab could not get out in an emergency situation. dt  view

Wheel rim bent and cracked when driven over pavement irregularity and it had to be replaced. reported this defect to mitsubishi. they referred me to local dealer who examined rim. no action taken by manufacturer. dt  view

Set cruise control on 70mph, after approx. 2 miles i tapped the brakes to disengage the cruise control and nothing happened, tried three more time without any response. tried to turn off the cruise control by hitting the off button but still didn't get any response. put both feet on brake pedal and stood on the brake but it barely slowed the truck down. finally had to turn the ignition off and coast to a stop. i restarted the truck several times but cruise was still set. i finally disconnected the cruise control from the throttle body in order to continue my trip. dt  view

I have contacted lincoln about the paint and mirrors and they will not do anything about it. the mirror is on the driver's side is discolored and distored. i have to take the car to an autobody shop per dealer and was told that it was a defected paint job from the lincoln. they will not do anything about it. dt  view

Rotors replaced under recall have now failed in less than 8000 miles. dt  view

The first tire started losing big chunks of thread while driving on the freeway at 75mph. there was very little damage to the bottom of my vehicle at that time, and that's why i decided not to file a claim when i had the tire replaced. the second tire started making strange noises while driving in the city at 40 mph. i went back to discount tire where i had bought the four tires to have it inspected. i was told that the thread was separating from the inside out. the tire was replaced at that moment. the third tire blew up while driving on the same freeway at 75 mph. my wife was able to control the vehicle, avoiding an major accident. there was a $2,600 damage to the vehicle. while i was having that tire replaced i asked the discount tire manager to inspect the fourth and last desert dog tire i had left on my vehicle. he concluded that the tire was separating from the inside out too, and replaced it. dt  view

My husband was installing the baby seat into the back seat of our car in preparation for bringing our newborn son from the hospital on a cold rainy evening. when he turned the rear-window defogger on. the rear window of the car exploded into small fragments of flying shrapnel which spattered all over the back seat and baby seat. my husband sustained minor cuts on his hands and head. if this had happened the next day, when we were to bring my son home. he might have been blinded and badly lacerated or much worse. the entire back of the car was soaked due to the driving rain. before my husband got the car into a garage, significant water damage was done to the entire back passenger compartment. i contacted vw to pay for our deductible and reimburse us for the water damage, and their only answer was that the vehicle is out of warrantee and that they will not help us. i mentioned the seriousness of the injuries which could have happened had my son been in his rear facing baby seat when the glass shattered. they weren't even interested in taking the information down. the customer service agent, a mr. brandon curtis, seemed willing to help, but it seems his supervisor overruled him. i hope we can find a way to get vw to pay for our expenses, but even more importantly, it is vital to make sure this never happens to anyone while there is a child or infant on that back seat. dt  view

Overheats when traveling @ 10 - 20 miles per hour, in hot weather. dt  view

Engine overheats when riding in stop and go traffic at ambient temperatures at or above approx. 80 deg. fahrenheit. coolant may escape the recovery tank, and land on the road just ahead of the rear tire. dt  view
