1990 GMC C SERIES(LIGHT) User Comment / Complaint

Only available appointment for installation for the new electrical system ignition switch to this vehicle is december 2nd. please provide further information.  view

Odometer reading jumped from 43000 to 143000 with out any warning. dealer has been notified. please provide further information.  view

Dealer will not honor any after market products on the electrical system ignition switch recall. please provide further information.  view

While traveling on the highway there is a winding noise coming from the steering. the dealership is aware of the problem.  view

This car has literally come unscrewed since i purchased it 2.5 years ago-parts inside and out! most recently the axle "came unscrewed" for no reason and the bolts snapped. the windows have malfunctioned and the rear suspension had to be screwed back together shortly after i bought it. the plastic covering underneath also fell off for no reason-also while i was driving. the windshield wipers have come unscrewed twice and ceased to function once on the highway at high speed during a rain storm. the glove compartment and cup holders have all fallen out. i bought this car new 2 1/2 years ago and i know fear for my life every time i get into it. i have reported this to both the dealer and to volkswagen. neither have expressed any concern whatsoever. dt  view

This vehicle falls under the recall (nhtsa campaign id number: 98v009000). the dealer has been contacted 15 times and still has made no effort to replace this recalled part. will contact ford directly next. dt  view

The problem occurs because the diesel filler cap is not labeled nor is the filler door nor does the manual contain any notice. the cap on a 1997 vehicle (non-diesel fits on a diesel) one is apparaently vented one is not. but there is not way to as certain which is vented in which is not. the aftermarket dealers do not show a distinction. apparently, the cap i placed on the vehicle was not vented and resulted in the tank imploding to the point that the intake tube and sensor were bent within 6 inches if the top of the tank. the tank was flattened. gm needs to mark these filler caps. dt  view

Consumer called complaining about having problems front brake rotors. also stated that she had a recall on the rotors and had taken the vehicle to a shop who had change the rotors but never did. so she fail her inspection. ts  view
