1993 GMC C3500 User Comment / Complaint

Outside door handles of both front doors do not work. rear door handles must be pulled hard to work. driver's door handle works only if windows are lowered significantly, but not all the way. during this car entry process, i also discovered that right rear window will go back up when i turn the headlights on. driver's door handle pin was reinstalled by dealer 4/18/2002, but it failed again 2 months later. passenger door handle failed on 10/31/2002. it does not respond to the lowered windows. dt  view

Consumer states that while driving and with no warning the windshield wiper will work intermittently and it becomes hard for the consumer to see during rainy weather. dealer notified. nlm  view

This car has been at the dealership many times for the check engine light. you must push the pedal completely to the floor before the car will stop. i have had brake pads, rotors, alternator, serpintine belt replaced. i have had my computer replaced 3 times and six injectors installed. this car is a nightmare gm should take responsibility for this horrible car. as we all can see there have been numerous complaints on nhtsa's web site. someone please help us! dt  view

While driving the pickup truck the brakes failed totally. inspection found that the brake line rotted at rear axle flex hose connection. this truck has never been backed into fresh or salt water (as in launching a boat). the truck has spent all it's years in new england and salt is used on the roads in winter. i do not believe a truck. just under 5 years old should have the brake lines rust out and cause a total loss of braking. either the brake lines are of the wrong material or wrongly positioned. i could have been killed if i had been at higher speed and in traffic. this truck has been employed in normal passenger transportation only. dt  view

Consumer states that the passenger side automatic seat belt stop working, it stuck in the out position, will not retract back into position. leaving passenger un protected in an accident. nlm  view

Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning all 4 tires have tread separation and this can result in a tire blow out. size#23575r15 please provide the dot#. nlm  view

Consumer states that every six months the tires are wearing. took to dealer and the dealer stated there is a problem with ball joints and can't align. nlm  view

I have had nothing but problems with this car. i have only owned it for a year and 1/2, and have already put more money in to it than i will ever get out of it. i do not recommend this car to anyone! i went through in a four week span having the brakes go out, the muffler fell off. the head gaskets blew, the water pump broke and the power steering pump went out. i hate this car!! dt  view

Reported and inquired to daimler chrysler and awaiting response. when shifting from park to drive transmission will not engage. this first began about one year ago and was mentioned during regular services but nothing was determined. problem is becoming more regular. also experience an incident when entering a highway tranmission would not shift out of first gear. i increased speed to about 45 mph and tranmission still would not shift and rpm was beginning red line. after pulling over and stopping and turning off vehicle and restarting did vehicle operate normally. dt  view

After having brake job done and tires rotated i was driving highway speed. violent steering wheel jerking occurred. pulled over and called auto repair service who had just worked on vehicle to come inspect. he says nothing they did wrong, belts in tire appear to be separating. not believing, took vehicle to 3rd party who said same thing. original equipment on 1999 for ranger pick up. ford says contact firestone. firestone says that probably isn't what it is but will sell me new firestones with pro-rate for usage. thanks, but no thanks. dt  view
