1987 DODGE 600 User Comment / Complaint

I was driving at the posted speed limit on i-40 appox. 130 miles east of bastow claif. it was 1030am temp. was less than 90 degrees. the truck suddenly started shaking violently and then the right front tire seemed to explode and the truck went in to the median. i was lucky enough to not roll or die. when i inspected the front tire tread was 3/4 gone (separated from the tire) but the tire still held air. that was the only saving grace. i tow a 17000lb 5th wheel trailer; had i been towing the trailer i do not believe i would be writing you now. there was also several hundred dollars of damage to the wheel well area of the truck from the tire tread slapping it. i spent $700. today replacing all the dangerous tires encluding the spare. something should be done to safeguard the public from this dangerous reality.  view

Brake problems since the beginning. vibration when braking any speed, dealer couldn't locate the problem and pads where fine. withen a few months i replaced the brake pads and had the rotors turned, i still have the vibration problem. i;ve heard about a factory recall on the brakes but couldn't locate any information with an online search.  view

Abs light comes on and off randomly. been told by volvo dealer that it is a bad abs module. dt  view

I was making a turn around when my steering column started making a noise and my air bag light came on and stayed on. at the same time my horn quit working . my steering is still making a noise like something is loose in it. i called mckinney dodge about it. i bought the car with 13000 miles on it, now they tell me my warrenty has ran out. when i bought it they told me that i had 2 yrs. or 25000 miles on the warrenty, now they say that was when it was new and not from when i purchased it. i am scared to drive it not knowing if the airbag will deploy or if the steering will fail, not to mention not being able to use the horn. i would like to know if there is anything i can do about it? dt  view

Upon head on impact the rear seatback bent forward and crushed my daughter between the seatbelt and the rear seat. dt  view

A rock went bounced up under the car and set off the drivers side airbag. the airbag bruised the drivers arm and ribs. the car swerve onto the shoulder of the road due to the airbag forcing the driver to the right, but the car did not leave the road way. due to the cost of the replacing the system, we were forced to submit an insurance claim which thus raised our insurance premium.  view

While traveling about 15mph on a road, cable got stuck between throttle, the vehicle wouldn't stop. consumer had the pedal pushed all the way down to the floor. transmission boost cable had boken which caused the throttle to stick therefore contributing to the accident.  view

The dealership claims that ford has been experiencing problems with spark plugs just "blowing out" of the heads in newer ford vehicles. this causes the coil on top of the spark to shatter against the hood of the vehicle and the injectors continue to pump fuel into the cylinder. the coil is producing random sparking to any ground it can find. if a person didn't stop immediately, this condition might likely cause an engine fire.  view
