Consumer states the brakes on the vehicle are not working properly, the stopping distance on the vehicle has increased and the consumer has alomst been in accidents due to this defect. contacted dealer and the dealer has taken a look at the vehicle six times already and they cannot find the problem.  view

The keys are not available at any dealership or afternarket. imagine losing your keys in a strange town. it took the dealer 5 days to replace the key they lost. as for the blend door, go to the site markviii.org and there are many complaints about this componant that is only $30.00 but costs $800.00 to replace due to the labor to get at the part. with as many failures the dot needs to do something asap about this. dt  view

The tread completely seperated from the sidewall on both sides of the tire at high speed. john pierce the ford dealer service manager agreed that it had to be a faulty tire. the dealer will only replace the tire but will not fix the 750 dollars worth of damage caused by the blowout. my main concern though is the other tires. i was driving this time but most of the time my wife and children are in the truck alone. how safe is that. the service manager also said the tire manufacturer would only honor the prorated warranty and nothing else. dt  view

(had to hold it down with my left hand and turn with the right hand. the shop at the dealer checked it out and stated that this was happening because of the air bag and the chip was moved to the right side of the steering wheel. this is a manufacturers defect that needs to be corrected.  view

My abs light is always on and it has been into the honda dealer and they could not locate the problem. i have had a to use my brakes in a quick manner and have found that they lock up. i have two small children and this is a major concern for me. i found a recall on the safety alerts that said there was a recall for this problem on the 98 honda passport. i took the nhtsa campaign number (021002001) called honda customer service and they have no record of this recall. i tried the local honda dealer and they could not find anything either. they told me there was nothing in their bulletins regarding abs. my concern is i have been having trouble with the abs, i have two small children and this has been brought to my attention yet no one can find this campaign id number 021002001 linked to my honda passport. if there is anything that can be done please contact me. dt  view

Vehicle experienced a no start condition due to a faulty battery, the sensor in the vehicle is also faulty and as a result, the vehicle main computer is not working and is causing messages on the message board to display in error. nlm  view

Tire size lt24575r16; this motorhome has had 2 tires fail at different mileages. first one had tread seaparation at 11,800 miles, and second tire had tread separation at 14,300 miles. both caused motorhome to vibrate, and both occurred in rear with non-dual axle assembly. this motorhome is sitting on a ford chasises.  view

After several attempts to stop oil leaking from my car, it was discovered that the car needed the head gasket replaced. the manufacture states this part is out of warranty. i have seen where several people of complained about this very problem and i am wondering what recourse i have to get my money refunded. i have spent $700.00 in repairs. dt  view

Noticeable vibration for several days. assumed tire out of balance. while driving at 75 mph, temperature about 80 degrees, excessive vibrations then banging sound followed by rapid deflation of left rear tire. tire had lost about 1/2 it's total tread.  view

Prior to leaving my house for a trip to napa valley with my family, i checked the tire pressures on all four tires to ensure the safety of my passengers and myself. i have 6 relatively small-sized adult and a child as passengers. 25 miles into the trip, travelling on the slow lane of interstate 880, i heard a popping sound as if something hit the underside of my vehicle. a few seconds later, i can see smoke from behind through my side mirror and a shudder. realizing i had a flat tire, i was able to pull over to the side of the freeway. the outer sidewall of the tire completely separated itself from the rest of the tire. an officer of the california highway patrol by the name of officer espiritu assisted us in getting back on the road again. i was not able to get pictures of the damaged tire then because of safety concern but i was able to take some pictures of it as soon as i got home. the aaa tow truck driver/mechanic who helped us even commented that the tire is still in good shape. the time and date of the incident was between 9:15 - 9:45 am of august 25.  view

On sat. (08/10/02) my family and i decided to take a leisurely drive into the hill country just outside of austin, texas. i was driving my 2000 ford excursion on hwy 71, westward at an approx speed of 65 when the front right tire completely separated from its tread. this occurred unexpectedy for there was no debris on the road and no object was hit or struck. the seperated tread tumbled over and over in the wheel well area causing extensive damage to vehicle. i narrowly escaped hitting oncoming traffic and managed to limp the vehicle over to the shoulder. the tire remained inflated - no blow out, tread simply came apart! after recovering tread from roadway, the tire was changed with spare and further limped back to austin to original dealership. dealer service manger reviewed damage as well as drew my attention to opposite front left tire which appeared to have a "bubble" on its tread. the excursion, under factory warranty and the firestone steeltex a/t lt 265/75r16 tires original tires purchased with vehicle - i assumed ford would pay to replace tires and fix damage to vehicle. i am not pleased to report ford is pointing finger at firestone and informs me any damage claims must be directed to firestone hq. i filed incident report #818333 with firestone and was required to ship both tire & tread to their hq. after only 1/2 day investigation - firestone mailed form letter in return stateing "..tire failure did not result from defect in either materials or workmanship".but rather "insufficient air pressure". this is not true. i am meticulous in the care and maintence to this vehicle including its tires. pressure was checked just prior to our outing that same day. i would never put my family at risk due to negligence on my part. its sad to see neither firestone nor ford take any responsiblity for these defective tires.  view

While driving 30 mph vehicle was hit on driver side door, driver door was penetrated 8-10 inches. driver side air bag did not deploy, driver front air bag deployed. driver suffered bruised kidney and multiple injuries on left side of body. vehicle was totalled. ts manufacturer not willing to do anything about side air bags.  view

This tire has separated tread yet remains fully aired. it damaged my truck as the tread separated from the tire. in my opinion it looks like a retread. they have offered to prorate the tire 55% but my wife and i both are now parinoid to drive the vehicle with these tires after seeing what firestones seperated tires can do.  view

Purchased 4 goodyear lt30570r16 tires at goodyear dealer in arcadia, fl to replace original equipment firestones to avoid tire problem. goodyear dealer assured us that larger tire would be adequate and safe for our needs even though we expressed concerns. continued with travels and in 6/2001 upon crossing the us/canada border on the dirt and gravel road known as 'the top of the world highway' going 25mph towing a 5th wheel the left rear tire split in two crossways. i had to dig a hole in the road and with the help of a friend managed to get the tire changed. this was a very dangerous situation as there was a 1,000 ft drop off of a very narrow road with additional motor vehicles passing due to the us custom's station having just opened for the day. returned tire to goodyear dealer in fairbanks, ak on 6/26/01. goodyear replaced the damaged tire and we were forced to purchase a second tire , $243, to have matching tires on the rear of the vehicle. (lt305/70r16 wrangler mtr). second incident in colorado heading north on i-70, 2 miles from the colorado city exit. traveling at 60mph down a very steep winding portion of the highway the tire began thumping and the tread separated, but the tire remained inflated. managed to pull off the side of the highway and was able to change tire. again, a very dangerous situation at sunset with semis coming around the downhill curve at 75mph. with god's grace we were on a very wide portion of pull off and managed to get the tire changed without incident. the truck sustained damage to the right front fender and door estimated at $1,300. i feel very angry that i have had to endure 2 incidences such as this. there are many reports of this same occurrance with the wrangler tires. i feel that i am just a part of a 'calculated risk' by goodyear. i now have another wrangler at/s tire that is bulging. i am told that i must replace. dt  view

Rotors are shot!! only 26000 miles can is maintained superbly. ive read of past recalls on bad rotors by dodge. rotors were thin and rusting from inside out had to replace or risk major accident. dt  view
