1987 MERKUR XR4TI User Comment / Complaint

It has been impossible to keep these sensors in working condition for more than a month. after searching the internet newsgroups, it is clear that this is a very common problem across all 97 discovery. the generally accepted advice is to disconnect the abs because it will never work. in my opinion, if we have reached the point where the generally accepted advice is to disconnect this important safety feature, the manufacturer has a problem.  view

Nhtsa recall 01v032000 concerning brake lamp; brake lights still fail, not illuminating when brake pedal is depressed. owner indicates that this is the fourth time this failure has occurred. please describe details.  view

While driving 35 mph, slowed to make a turn and steering became difficult to turn, making an awkward sound. please describe details.  view

Transmission cooling line has been leaking oil due to improper fittings. dealer stated fittings were no longer manufactured. both lines have to be replaced in order to put in newer fittings. the consumer stated that leaking oil from fitting may cause a fire.  view

While driving noticed a noise coming from front end of vehicle,and vehicle was swaying. dealer has been contacted. and indicated that rack and pinion steering needed to be replaced. provide further information.  view
