1987 PLYMOUTH RELIANT User Comment / Complaint

At 60+ mph, the power steering feels unstable. this may be a failure in the variable assist system although dealer was confused if tahow still had this system. it may be front suspension instability. vehicle handles very well at lower speeds but over 60, it wanders and the steering feels like it will overcompensate or oversteer. unknown if the tahoe still has a variable power assist steering. i would like to speak to a chevrolet representative that can provide this information and assistance.  view

Would like to know if this has occurred to other owners of dodge dakotas. no safety defect listed.  view

While traveling the speed limit on an interstate highway, june 2, 2002, we had only traveled approximately 20 miles, when we experienced a tire explosion on the front driver's side. this caused us to lose control of our vehicle, crossing two lanes of traffic, and ending up in the median. before coming to a complete stop, the vehicle had traveled approximately 60 yards, turned sideways, and almost rolled. my excursion was up on two wheels, nearly rolling over. it stayed suspended in air for a few seconds before falling back down on all four wheels. no other vehicle was involved, and no physical injury was incurred. however, it endangered the life of my family, and traumatized my children. there needs to be a further investigation into firestone tires. there definitely is a problem there.  view

Consumer states that one of the front goodyear tires has a bubble on the sidewall, goodyear viva p185/70r16, m&s radial tubeless, mgfmxbhr449.  view

While transporting two kayaks, at 107 lbs., the roof rack pulled loose from the roof. dealers owners manual says the roof rack is good for 200 lbs. dealer replaced rack, but would not repair damage to vehicle door when failure occurred.  view

Consumer state that engine indicator light came on and the dealer had said that the fuse box melted and shorted, and therefore, the fuse box and wiring had to be replaced.  view

Consumer stated the vehicle stalled while driving, after stalling the engine would turn over but not start, the message no bus appeared right when the engine stalled, the dealer replaced the powertrain control module and the pcm crankshaft.  view

The a/c blows warm air since the a/c condenser was damaged by rocks on the road as the result of the dealer failing to install protective screen. the consumer was seeking reimbursement for the loss.  view

Prior to recall notice 00v-136 the left brake rotor broke while driving, the consumer is requesting reimbursement. nlm  view

While driving 5-10 mph, consumer was hit on driver's side and the side air bags did not deploy. contacted dealer and they were going to take a look at the vehicle. the other vehicle ran a red light and travelling approx. 45 mph. consumer suffered bruises, upper and lower back pains, elevated blood pressure and periodic numbness in both legs. jg  view
