1993 GMC C15 User Comment / Complaint

Rear fender cracks on this model behind the fender support. if this condition goes unnoticed by the driver the fender may buckle and fall to contact the rear tire causing a loss of control of the motorcycle. contact has been made with the manufacturer and they deny that this is a common problem in spite of an estimated 30% of all owners complaining of experiencing this problem.  view

Exhaust leak at right exhaust manifold. three studs failed allowing manifold to pull away from cylinder head causing head warpage. fourth occurrence on same side of manifold.  view

Two-fifths of inboard pad was missing from the metal plate and appeared not to have been bonded to the plate as the metal appeared corroded in the area where the pad should have been bonded to the plate. the dealership is contacting the zone representative who is to inspect the pad and plate on february 28th. the pads were worn but not to the point that the wear indicator touched the rotors. therefore, the only warning we had of a brake problem was an unusual noise coming from the right front wheel during brake applications, and only then after driving the vehicle for a few miles.  view

Consumer states the inside hood latch location causes the hood to open while driving, manufacturer was notified. nlm when moving to the left consumer's foot can catch the hood latch.  view

The check engine light appear on the dasboard without prior warning. the dealership is aware of the problem. speed sensor was on recall but the recall did not cover the consumer's vehicle.  view

This car comes with firestone wilderness tires made especially for the outback. at only 24000 miles, i had a blowout in which the complete left side of the tire disintegrated. a few months after i bought the car and heard of the trouble with firestone tires, i called the dealer who assured me that these tires were safe and not on the recall list. when this dangerous incident happened two days ago, i went to a local firestone dealer who told me he could not get these wilderness tires, and didn't even have them in his computer. he wanted to blame subaru for the failure. i called both my subaru dealer and the head office in georgia (spoke with manager kevin triplett), and he wanted to blame firestone. these tires are obviously defective, as it simply disintegrated under normal driving conditions. i will be happy to email you pictures or to show you the tire in person. after warning both firestone & subaru of this defective product, they would only agree to put the same problem tire on my car, and i refuse to put my family's life in jeopardy with a defective tire. Engine stops while in motion,making right and left turns, between 10 and 15 mph and starts right back up after car has come to a stop.  view

This bike does not seem to pass emmissions as stated by the honda of america. they have refused to have it checked, or serviced.  view
