The incident dated 12/21/01 occured as the vehicle exited off the freeway in san pedro, ca. my brother was driving and was aware of the previous brake problems that have occurred in rainy conditions. the vehicle followed the offramp at 25 mph. we had ample distance between the us and the car in front. as the car came to a slow down, my brother stepped on the brakes but they did not work. there was a rumbling sound as the tires kept rotating. he veered over to the lane to our left so as not to hit the car in front of us. the vehicle continued to slide about 10 more feet on its own until my brother pulled on the emergency brake. as this was happening an 18 wheeler truck was approaching from behind us. fortunately he was able to stop, the screeching of his brakes was loud, and although our bumpers were touching no one or no vehcile was damaged. the other two incidents of the brakes locking up also occured in rainy conditions. the first happening on the day i bought the vehicle. again, fortunately no other car was in front of me or for sure i would hvae definitely had rear end collisions as my vehicle slid about 2 feet after the brakes were pressed. also, in very hot temperatures (90-100 degrees) the brakes when pressed make the vehicle rumble loudly to the point where the rear view mirror shakes for about 3 seconds. the other ongoing problem has been the screeching and squealing of the brakes from the day the vehicle was purchased.  view
