On 12/14/2001, my wife terez kadar heard the smoke detector in our home go off. she discovered the downstairs basement den of our home was filled with smoke. she called "911" and immediately left the house and waited at a neighbors for fire personnel to arrive.  view

Dealer recently replace part (with no charge) but did not perform a front end alignment to ensure vehicle is safe. new part (9per the limited warranty) is good for 12 months after sale or replacement. steering shafts should be designed for life vs failing after 18 months. unsure of other 2000 suburban's but, this was a critical part of the vehicle and if not fixed surely would have caused and accident..  view

Numerous brake failure. brake pedal fades to the floor after sitting overnight, notice not fluid at rt front brake line, replace master cylinder. power bleed and rt 26 miles after rapair, normal braking performance. poor brake performance, sometimes a loud snap or click before failure, sometime no warning, sometime just a soft or spongy brake pedal. battery leaking acid into battery box, verified and found battery leaking at possitive cable replace battery, cover, possitive cable, trans filter and cleaned engine compartment. hose from coolant tank to throttle body rubbed, replace hose. adjustment parking brakes hard to pull, adjust per service manuel.  view

Consumer stated as he was exiting a parking lot and upon application of the brakes, the vehicle attempted to accelerate requiring consumer to press hard on the brake to prevent the vehicle from jumping out into traffic, as consumer held his foot on the brake, the rear tires began to spin in a continuous attempt to move the vehicle foward, consumer then placed the transmission in neutral, and noticed the tachometer was indicating the engine speed at over 4000 rpms, after a few seconds of placing the vehicle in neutral, the engine returned to a normal idle speed.  view
