While driving at any mph and stepin gon accelerator , engine will not accelerate, just like mentioned in recall # 97 v 025 000/ throttle control. please provide more information.  view

Consumer had a head on collision and air bags did not deploy. consumer was injured.  view

Received recall notice 00v217000 for side impact sensor module. contacted dealership for an appointment. recall was repaired, but problem still exists. vehicle towed 4 times since recall repairs.  view

While traveling 30-40mph vehicle was involved in a crash. built in child safety seats chest clip opened upon impact. had contacted manufacturer of child seat and dealership. child suffered injuires.  view

The first incident with my 1995 base model chevrolet cavalier was when the horn stopped working, when i needed it most on a freeway when someone was about to hit me while changing lanes. the horn failed, and it had to be replaced at a cost of about $100, which i covered, since the vehicle was recently off of warranty. months later, the trunk latch refused to work. i could not open the trunk from the rear or from the inside of the car. in late 2000, my brakes were making grinding noises. turns out the rotors were badly warped at 50,000 miles. now, 15,000 miles later, the brakes are grinding again, which leads me to believe that the rotors may once again be warped. at the beginning of 2002, i took my car in for a routine inspection, only to discover that the head gasket was cracked and leaking coolant all over my engine. the head gasket had to be replaced, which was a very costly repair. only recently have i heard that this may or may not be covered by a "secret" warranty up to 7 years or 100,000 miles, something i wish i had been notified of before this happened. finally, within weeks of the head gasket repair, the plastic on the driver's seatbelt snapped off, so now i must have the entire seatbelt replaced. i am very disappointed with all of the problems i have experienced with this car, and i have heard that other cavalier owners have had even worse experiences than me! i would like to see general motors stand by their products and at least reimburse me for some of the head gasket repair cost, which was nearly seven hundred dollars, but this may only be a pipe dream. there should be a recall on the cavalier engine head gaskets for the 2.2 l engines. this seems to be a long-running problem on cavaliers throughout the 1990s that gm has yet to publicly admit or address. what will it take for them to recall it, someone dying on the road when his or her car either stalls in busy traffic or catches on fire?  view

While driving vehicle shut off. after taking vehicle to repair shop, technician told consumer that transmission went bad, and that was the reason vehicle shut off.  view

Second set of rotors are being replaced at 6,000 miles. excessive wear of rotors causes vehicle to buck when trying to brake at high speeds.  view

Vehicle was going 60mph on interstate there was no warning before back end dropped, and rear passenger's tire blewout. sidewall was still attached, and tread was in one piece. manufacturer was replacing one tire free of charge. aftermarket tires; size 33x10.50; 15 5,000 miles.  view

Consumer noticed gasoline fumes inside vehicle. vehicle taken to dealer, who determined fuel injector tops were made of plastic and allow ed fuel to leak onto intake manifold. fuel injectors need to be replaced.  view

Red light on dash illuminated. took to dealer, and they stated that computer for airbag died, and needed to be replaced. driver felt this was very unsafe because this light warned driver that there might be a problem with airbag.there was a recall 96 v 217 000 on another model for same problem.  view

I didn't bring the vehicle to the dealership because they told me it was out of warranty. figures...it went out of warranty in may 2001. i don't think that a vehicle should need new ball joints at 28,916 miles. it is my understanding that the ball joints are being replaced on other gm jimmy's that are older than mine. i aslo, included the emergency brake which i was told was frozen in place. this emergency/parking brake was not used. how would it be frozen in place????  view

The manual transmission on this vehicle skips or shudders in 1st gear making it difficult to pull forward or into traffic at slow speeds without stalling the car. the only option is to rev the engine higher than normally to insure clutch engagement which then cause the clutch to burn. sometimes even this doesn't work. it happens more often when the car is cold. dealer said it could not be duplicated so it must be our driving, however i have been driving manuals for 20 years and this has never been a problem. this is a scary car to pull out into heavy or fast moving traffic.  view

Driving along highway i94, when had to brake (medium braking) due to car slowing in front, went over a bump in the road during the braking the brakes seem to completly disappear with very little pedal pressure. the road was dry. i nearly ran into the back of the car in front. tyhis can be duplicated with similar conditions such as smooth road with medium to heavy braking (not full braking) with a bump in the road it seems to send the abs out of control and loose all breaking for a 1sec or so.  view

Seems to be a defect in all ford thunderbird sc headgaskets. factory mill is incorrect and not done very well. recall is necessary to have ford fix an issue that has been recalled for the 1994/95 models. ford should recall the 1989-1993 sc, same drivetrain.  view

2001 cavalier struck a 1997 dodge van broadside traveling through a highway intersection i slammed on brakes to no avail when van turned left in front of me.  view

Srs control unit is the electrical / computer part that runs the air bag system and has failed twice in the past 14 months. the "srs" light remains lit at start-up. the replacement part is $360+ alone. i believe this is a problem with these parts in hondas, as my parent's accord has a similar problem and i have found other owner's complaints posted across the internet. american honda (as i am sure other manufacturers are the same) won't stand behind these computer/electrical parts for more than 12 months / 12,000 miles. i believe a vital safety component such as this should be designed and built with warrantee to last longer than the headlights and other non-essential electrical parts. i am sure other honda owners have been victimized, as i have been twice now in 5 years, by this faulty component.  view

Apperantly this is a known issue with the lotus elan fuel tank. lotus wants to charge me for repairing something they know is faulty due to poor design. i have spoken with other elan owners and some have paid the fee for the new tank as well as the service charges totalling over $1,000. i along with all the other owners would like lotus to step up and take responsibility for this.  view

Started placed in drive gave gas and it went in reverse, placed in park, back to drive and again it went backwards, placed in park, back to low and it went ahead. then placed into drive and it was okay. reported to manufacturer and dealer, checked same and they stated that they could not find the problem. i was told to keep an eye on it.  view

Front stablizer and sway bar have broken in the past 4 years, front tires can not be aligned and wear out faster because of this failure. consumer states front stabalizer links were replaced due to on going complications, both front wheels bearing hub assembly failed, the front brake pads and rotors were replaced, and the front ball joints have some play.  view

Consumer stated vehicle will not make a short panic stop at low speeds, extreme pedal pressure has little effect as the vehicle approaches 15 to 10 mph and slower, consumer stated the abs control is suppose to drop off and permit the brakes to stop the vehicle without limitation, consumer was informed by dealer he should allow for greater stopping distance with abs and that the problem could not be duplicated, also consumer discovered brake fluid under the master cylinder, the dealer replaced the cap seal due to it not sealing properly.  view

Consumer stated vehicle will not make a short panic stop at low speeds, extreme pedal pressure has little effect as the vehicle approaches 15 to 10 mph and slower, consumer stated the abs control is suppose to drop off and permit the brakes to stop the vehicle without limitation, consumer was informed by dealer he should allow for greater stopping distance with abs and that the problem could not be duplicated, also consumer discovered brake fluid under the master cylinder, the dealer replaced the cap seal due to it not sealing properly.  view

When applying brakes in a panic stop pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance, and resulting in a collision. please provide further details if needed.  view

Automatic transmission would "buck" during acceleration when vehicle was shifted from reverse into the drive gear. also, states vehicle would make a "clunking" noise when transmission "bucked". dealership examined vehicle, and could not reproduce problem. then, after consultation with manufacturer, dealership replaced transmission.  view

Throttle stuck wide open i had to depress the clutch and turn the engine off. this has h appened five other times at various speeds and under different weather conditions. gm know of this problem it has caused accidents and they refer you to the dealer. their dealers do not have a fix for this problem and they know this information. this problem is showing up in all f-body gm cars with their 5.7 liter v8s. i have not reported this problem to my dealer because i know they can not fix it. this is a problem that is not consistant. it does not happen if you preform a given task. once i started my car after it was sitting all day the tach raced from 900 rpm to 4,000 rpm. i shut the engine down and restarted three times before the problem was corrected. once, i was exiting i-96 freeway at orchard lake road exit i had been driving at 70 mph with the cruise control on. when i applied the brakes to to slow for the exit the engine shot up to 5,000 rpm from 2,100 and the car went from 70mph to 90mph before i put the clutch in and applied the breaks. another time i was driving on north bound telegrath road between 14 & 15 mile roads at 50 mph it was summer time and i had the air conditioning on. i applied the breaks to slow down and the engine again went from 1,800 rpm to over 4,000 rpm. i again put in the clutch, and remembered that i had read a post about this problem on the internet, so i turned off the air conditioning and the engine went back to normal. this is a very serious problem, someone is going to be hurt or killed. if you go to the slp engineering web site (http://www.slpeng.com) you will find that there have already been accidents caused by this problem. i believe that there is either a deffect in the pcm or in the wiring harnes that controls the fuel injection system. taking the car to a dealer will not be of any help. this is an engineering problem. please help us! thank you, frank ellias.  view

A "clunking" noise was coming from the rear of the vehicle during application of brakes. dealership examined vehicle and determined brake drums were not rounded and had to be replaced. four days later, vehicle was involved in a crash when brake pedal went to the floor before brake system activated. crash occurred on december 5, 2001 when vehicle rear-ended a stopped car while traveling approximately 15 to 20 mph.  view
