1993 GMC C SERIES(LIGHT) User Comment / Complaint

Don't recall exact dates or milage of failure, but steering rack was replaced twice by manufacture at about 13,000 and 20,000 miles. both times experinced hard steering to left, abnormal sounds, and slight jerks transmitted through steering wheel during turning. now have the exact same problem with my 1998 pontiac grand prix which is having the steering rack replaced at a cost of about $1,000. on the grand prix bearings and other components actually fell out of the rack assembly on my driveway. the grand prix was purchased used about a year ago and currently has about 62,000 miles on it. i have never had to replace this component on any other vehicle i have owned. is this a common problem for these vehicles?  view

While making a sharp right turn right front tire suddenly deflated. rubber is torn from 1 inch into sidewall to 2 inches into tread. hole which caused flat is in the sidewall. (tiresize: p205/70r14)  view

1992 models security systems were recalled because alarm will go off when unlocking doors, and my 1993 does the same thing ever since i've had it. only way to tolerate this inconvenience was to unhook the horn , so now the lights blink everytime i unlock the door and sometimes turning the key again will not make the alarm stop.  view

Nothing but problems with the car. first noticed leak in the floorboard on the front passenger side as the dealer detailed car. interior dome light fell off soon after, followed by the fuel gate door and the left drivers side mirror. now my transmission has blown up, all while going 25 mph or under, and all under 21,000 miles! we've had a major recall on average every other month too. what a lemmon!
