Mopar trailer hitch contacts ground when pulling into driveway, dealer stated there was no problem and that the hitch was attached correctly, consumer returned the hitch to the original dealership.  view

Consumer states the built in child safety seat latch pinches both infants who use this seat, both of the children are well under the 50 pound limit for the seat.  view

Dealer replaced the multifunction switch on three occasions and tightened nut for ground eyelet once due to windshield wipers coming on by themselves and not working properly, door ajar light would illuminate while driving for no reason, dealer replaced body computer, however door ajar lights continue to sound and illuminate, interior lamps would come on and off for no reason, interior lights would flicker, dealer found a bad contact in the drivers door switch and repaired it, dealer could not find reason for other lights erratic operation, car alarm sounds by itself, remote alarm and lock does not cause vehicle to honk to let consumer know it has worked, dealer reprogrammed remote.  view

Consumer states while his daughter was in possession of his vehicle, it was discovered that vehicle would not go into reverse, consumer was informed that the transmission had gone out.  view

Consumer states there is a strong gas smell inside vehicle, vehicle was recalled and supposedly repaired in march 2001 for a gas tank problem, consumer believes that current problem may be related to the recall problem.  view

The steering wheel makes a squeaking noise when vehicle is cold, consumer was informed that a new steering column was needed and it would take 8 weeks before the part could be replaced, a few days after the steering wheel began to make noise again.  view

Both front seat belts were hard to unbuckle, dealership informed consumer that they needed to be replaced.  view

While making a left turn, consumer honked the horn and it would not stop blowing, consumer was forced to pull the fuse in order to stop the horn.  view

First, the whole transmission was rebuilt at dealers, the sensor fan now does not work, the battery and radiator are not functioning, the steering is malfunctioning, and the brakes are slipping, and now the transmission is also slipping again, i reported all this to chevy as i was not getting satifaction from the dealers in florida and now the my vehicle is broke down and will not run in bradenton florida at cox chevelot on cortez road in florida, i called and talked to several women in the customer service at chevy and their names are brandy mays and lillania lopez, i still have no vehicle and now i am not receiving any courteous service as i was told chevy would buy back the vehicle and it was a lease. i have purchased a new chevy truck and due to the red tape and chevy now refusing to help assist me with the buy back i am unable to keep my new truck due to this red tape and all the forms and information that the service dept. now says i need to have had done, but i was not informed when i first made the complaint on sept 7. i called back on sept, 28, when i found out that chevy went back on their word. i am not a car dealer, i do not work at chevy as a service representitive, and i sure do not know what papers or forms are required for the manufacture in detroit michigan needs to fill out paperwork. i am an unsatified consumer, and i feel the run around i am receiving is a great injustice. i loved my car and it is immaculate inside and out. i only want to keep my new chevy truck which is not looking as a possible option as chevy is not cooperating, the dealer moved its lot, the service departments in florida will not service the vehicle, and it is an engine censor chip, the transmission, the radiator sensor fan and now the steering, i have no knowledge on how to repair a sensor chip or any of these things and since the car is in florida i cannot get it to kentucky. now gmac, my financer on my new truck will not finance me.  view

There was an apparent electrical short within the interior frame next to the passenger window. i'm not sure exactly when the short occurred but the interior lining on the panel has three burn marks about two inches in diameter. the interior lights have not worked since this incident. i took my car to the dealer whom i purchased the car and their service advisor, dale gunter stated they would not repair the electrical defect or burned panel under warranty. i feel the fuse controlling the wire that shorted should have burned out before the electrical fire could burn the interior panel. any assistance you can provide me will be greatly appreciated. thank you for your help.  view

The right hand (starboard) side mirror broke off from the handlebars and broke on the pavement, the break happened where the mirror shaft meets the signal light just above the threads. nlm  view

The driver heard a ping noise, not very loud and subsequently a small star like mark on the windshield appeared, within a couple hours long freeform crack lines on the windshield had emanated from that small star like ping earlier on, the consumer believes this is a design defect, the winshield had to be replaced. nlm  view

The engine has had a horrible loud squeaking sound when the air conditioning is on. almost every belt and the tensioner has been replaced more than once. the service center at center chrysler in van nuys california repeatedly has told me this is normal. i have never heard another car ever which sounds so bad. i am afraid that something in the engine will snap or break while i am driving with my small children. i am getting no adequate response from chrysler. everytime i call i am told there is no problem but the mechanic has now told me that he thinks it may be the water pump belt. why is chrysler not dealing with a defective car?  view

Every week this past month i have been taking my car into the nelson dodge dealership in el monte, california in regards to the service engine light keeps coming on. the dealership cannot find out what is wrong with the car. they "think" it may need powerstrain control module and map sensor. the dealership is not sure. i took the van in on 10/15/01 due to the check engine light and i was charge for replacing the thermostat and gasket. on 10/23/01, my van stall while driving and i took it in and was charge for the throttle body service. on 10/29/01 i notice a green liquid that was dripping and the dealership said it was the cooling system, they check it and found nothing wrong, i was not charged. on 11/05/01, i took it in again for the service engine soon light was comming on again, they check the van and were not able to detect a problem, they "think" it might need powerstrain control module and map sensor. on 11/06/01, the service engine soon light has been going on then it turns off, i have it in the dealership again, waiting to receive a call from the dealership as to what they "think" might be the problem, that's if they detect a problem.  view

Vehicle was traveling aproximately 65mph and engine shut down. power brakes and steering went out without warning. brake pedal was pushed to the floor to stop vehicle. dealer stated it would be too expensive to find out what was the cause.  view

The bracket that is welded to the chassis of the vehicle, which holds the rack and pinion secure broke off causing the steering to be unstable.  view

The vehicle stalls suddenly while driving, the dealer could not determine the cause.  view

The consumer received a recall #860 on air bag defect for vehicle year 97-99. the service department stated this was an old recall. yh  view

Consumer got out of the vehicle to close the tailgate when all of a sudden, the vehicle jumped out of park and into reverse.  view

The air bag did not deploy in collision. please describe.  view

Incident vehicle is southwind storm motorhome on a p22 workhorse chassis and gm 6.8 liter vortec engine. electro-haydraulic driveline mounted parking brake/autopark systems engaged on its own four times in traffic after hitting a rough stretch of road with slector knob in off position then locked up completely and failed to release. traced problem to blown fuse. blew fuse on two occaisions. subsequently found that incidents had rendered both parking brake and park position on transmission completely inoperative. had to use wooden block to chock vehicle whenever parking. vehicle has no warning system to indicate loss of parking brake system, only indicator lights that it is engaged.  view

The fuel filler hose and the overflow hose have rotted and cracked to the point where it is almost impossible to refuel the vehicle. after refueling, the gas fumes are are quite strong and the possibility of fuel blowing back onto the hot exhaust and brakes is extremely high. ford does not have any recalls on the fuel hose for this particular vehicle although there are some vehicles manufactured at other locations which have been corrected.  view

The vehicles left rear tire came apart causing the driver to loose control of the vehicle, as a result the vehicle rotated clockwise causing the vehicle to overturn several times and as a result the passenger was ejected out of the passenger side of the vehicle, the vehicle came to final rest on the shoulder,driver sustained incapacitating injuries, the passenger sustained incapacitating injuries but later died (florida traffic crash report, bridgestone/firestone, p235/75r15, wwilderness at m/s, vdhl1py147, unknown position). nlm  view

Brake rotors have been replaced twice and have also been turned twice.ford installed new rotors and pads 36000 miles under warranty,this seems to be aongoing problem with these trucks,i'm concerned why this is happening every 9000 miles or so and who is responsible for further repairs now that the warranty has expired.it appears that ford doesn't really have a repair for this problem.doing front brakes every 9000 miles is not normal for any size truck and is a major saftey concern for myself and my family.please inform me of any recalls or if ford is still liable for further repairs.thank you very much for your time.  view

I have replaced these tires..i have sent ford motor co. all the papers and forms...now they keep giving me a complete run around..they sent me back to the dealer..the dealer don't know why they sennt me to them...all i am asking is my refund when i bought the tires..i can see why people get mad and say the hell with the whole deal...thank you...martin noyes. Why is the ignition switch recalled only for f-150 pickup trucks while the same switch is in the f-250 and f-350 trucks as well?  view

While traveling thirty-five to fourty-five mph on dry hot road conditions consumer's driver side orginial equipment genreal, ameri-xg45 tire size p205/70r15 experienced tread separation. dealer has been contacted. the dealer and manufacturer have been contacted and consumer was denied any type of assistance.  view

Abs, brake failure when brakes were applied pedal was very hard, vehicle was impact 3:00 position swirled out of control and impacted again, speed 20 mph.  view

Pe01-021, engine running and gearshift in park position , when suddendly gearshift popped out of park and went into reverse, causing vehicle to roll backwards and in a circle running into tree. consumer went to vehicle, and noticed gear shift was still in reverse.  view

While driving 45 mph the accelerator pedal fell off. dealer repairedit. on 7 aug 2001, pedal fell off again.  view

Vehicle was at a stop light wating to turn while it wa srainin, applied brakes, and skidded into vehicle from rear. upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't deploy.  view

Front brake rotors are wearing excessively. consumer has replaced brake rotors on four different occasions. also, when applying brakes to make a gradual stop vehicle skidded to a stop, causing extended stopping distance. consumer has contacted dealer. manufacturer linked the problem to non-adjustments to brakes. please provide any further details.  view

Problem #1: the fuel pump relay doesn't seem to disengage after first starting the engine and it heats up. this causes rough operating of the engine. further investigation shows that the maxi fuse to the lighting system heats up also, but does not fail. another area that is affected is the mini fuse to the courtesy lamps. it heats up, but does not fail. the last area to be affected is the evaporative emission canister vacuum switch. it acts as if the wheels are out of balance around 50mph. i have taken this vehicle in to the dealership on a number of occasions and they either can't find anything wrong or try and tell me that the fuel injectors are at fault. they put injector cleaner in the fuel tank on two occasions, which made it run worse. i asked to have the injectors replaced while it was still under warranty and they said they had to follow procedure bulletin #00-06-04-003 before taking that step. the problem still existed, but they haven't offered to replace fuel injectors. my thinking is that the problem is really the ignition switch. can you please advise me of any other similar complaints and how it was resolved? probelm #2: while driving straight highway at about 55 mph steering feels loose and wants shift lanes on it's own. on sweeping turns it turns to the right on it's own. i had the front end alligned and a new set of tires, but the problem still exists. any advise?  view

September 18, at approximately 4:30 pm my wife experienced a bona-fide blow-out of the left rear firestone steeltex on our 2000 excursion. i had checked air pressure sunday afternoon at 55 psi in each tire. lisa was proceeding east bound on the sam houston parkway on clear roads, in the middle lane, at 65 to 70 mph, when this catastrophic failure occurred. their were no road hazards noted, and no tread damage other than a complete tread separationthis morning i replaced all of the firestones with michelins for $884.65 at discount tire company on fm 1960. i do not want to further endanger my family with these tires. Pulling away from a stoplight something was terribly wrong with the front end. having gone maybe a hundred feet, the right front wheel was greatly out of place, as if it was ready to tear away completely from the vehicle. i had absolutely no warning of this nor was there any discernible reason for this other than manufacturer defect. i have every 3000 miles lubricated the chassis.  view

The rotors on this car have been "turned" / resurfaced at 7,000 again at 14,000 and again at just over 20,000 miles. i am due to pick up my car at 3 pm and am concerned the fix is temporary as past history indicates as well as possibly compromising my safety. i feel like the dealership as well as gm are behaving negligently.  view

For a car with only 80,000 miles on it the transmission should not have failed especialy since it has been in the shop about 8 times since i bought it 2 years ago. the car is always kept up with scheduled changes and never abused but still the car breaks down and gm should consider the 1995 grand prix a lemon.  view

Right rear brake does not release and it stays locked up after releasing brake pedal which is causing damage and tearing wheel/rotors and calipers. consumer was told by dealer that pins are freezing up. problem is common on 1/2 ton pickups, and 90% of time it is on right rear brake. also, repairs would have been covered if vehicle had 40,000 miles on it.  view

When driving 60 mph rear suspension steel plate broke and snapped in half, which damaged tire. also, fender got so hot that the heat damaged motorcycle seat. consumer has contacted dealer. consumer states motor blew both head gaskets and burnt both jugs, consumer checked that there was a fire.  view

Cosco model number 02803lex, dom 8-13-99. shield arm completely broke away from frame of seat, causing seat to become inoperable. please give any further details. the break occured while the car seat was in use, cosco sent a replacement shield but the consumer is concerned that other carseats may be defective. nlm  view

Was pulling out into traffice at 45mph when hood flew up about 6 inches. did not hit windshield due to secondary latch catching it. same problem has happened before in july. vehicle has only 500 miles.  view

Traveling inside lane; cruise on 60mph. rock in road appeared size of softball. passed over rock scrapping bottom of manifold shield, hitting the pliable plastic shield breaking fuel purge valve, and bending rear stabilizer bar. list of parts ordered for repair by garage and insurance adjustor: clock spring, airbag control module, steering wheel and instrument panel airbags, fuel tank, rear stabilizer bar and bracket, front lower air defector, fuel purge valve, and align 4 wheel suspension. no one has an answer to why the airbags deployed only, "the rock did it." jack is totally disabled (asbestos in the lung) and just used up another one of his nine lives. he had burns on his right thumb/hand area, forearm,; along with swelling, burns on his abdomen, and broken blood vessels in the chest area. the car did not stop running, but due to the gases and smell, jack got out asap and a lady that stop to assist turned the ignition off and removed keys. the car is still at ford waiting for parts.  view

When applying brakes it feels like pedal will go to floor. brake pedal goes down too far and it is soft, causing abs light to come on. brakes work like normal once abs light is on, and using regular brake system .dealer has attempted to correct defect, but defect keeps occurring. dealer has repaired abs several times and is willing to make more, however this time at consumers cost, abs light is still illuminated, dealer has replaced a pinched o-ring, front brakes, master cylinder, alb system modulator three times, alb pressure hose, alb pump, and accumulator, dealer also found abs valve stuck, flushed alb solenoid, and resecured brake lines, however abs light still illuminates. pinched o-ring replaced, dealer stated this caused abs light to illuminate. radiator failed and was replaced. right front parking light failed. antenna would not move up or down. low beam lights were out of adjustment. oil pan gasket experienced leak and dealer replaced gasket.  view

Once the car if turned off and i try to take the key out of the ignition it won't come out. several times i had to leave my key in the ignition over night because i couldn't get it out. several times i have been able to get someone to help me (financee & my father) but it is really getting to be a big headache. iatance from i called a mitsubishi dealer about the problem.  view

There is a a very serious danger that exists in year 2000 (2000+?) range rovers. namely, the possibility of the steering column becoming uncoupled, and the consequent loss of control, and possible danger.  view

I purchased the vehicle in june 2000. as certified vehicle from dealership,, certified for safety inspections 150 point? i noticed when test driving vehicle. front of vehicle had severe vibration, i noticed that the tires were low on air pressure. problem continued, i contacted the dealership numerous time to resolve the matter. at the time of sale the inspection was to be final. i later found out the inspection was never completed properly, ther are two active titles currently on vehicle, ohio and california california is now salvaged title as of 2/04/2001. contacted dealership numerous time regarding the findings on the bumper cover that had medical tape holding the side secure fastners together. and bumper cover out of allignment. radiator support had been buckled and not repaired correctly, primer on the inside of right front hood, head l ight assembly unit not complete and out of allignment, uneven tire wear, no owners manual, tires switched at time allignment was performed by dealership, dealership rented vehicle for 10 days., dealership represented preferred body shop american autobody and paint as boar official that was misrepresentation, contacted american honda as well as honda care regarding this vehicle and dealership? i asked the dealership what the certification applied to? it was to be warrantied just like a new vehicle..vehicle warranty docs were incomplete and not voluntarily submitted? dealership employee pushed husband against wall? no owners manual? michellon warranty came with vehicle docs. but at time of allignment federal tires were replaced without warranty? i was told the new tires were magical? i totalled the vehicle and later found on ccc report from the insurance company, that vehicle had previous damage done.. and all the above problem pertaining to previous damage?  view

On may 12,2001 while driving westbound on i-290, a car in the left lane cut me off. i swerved my suv to the right to avoid an accident, and the truck lost control, tip over on the driver side and started to rollover. the car stopped on its top(roof). i had taken the car into the dealer ship on 4/5/01 to repair the stabilizer links/bushing, and on 4/10/01 the rear springs had to be reseated. i only had this truck for 2.5 months.  view

The hub caps on all chev malibus are attached with 5 plastic lug nut s that screw on to the lug nuts that hold on the wheel.the plastic nuts are covered with thin chromed metal.all 5 of the plastic lug nuts must be removed prior to being able to remove the tire in case of a flat or if service is needed.the torque needed to remove the plastic lug nut exceeds the binding strenth of chromed metral cover on the plastic lug nuts.once the cover slips its impossible to remove the hubcap and therefore the tire.3 or my 4 hubcaps had to be destroyed to be removed.each one required 30 min and lots of effort.a female on the side of the road would be in serious danger.my mechanic called their friends a the chev dealership and asked how to remove the hubcaps...their answer was that the hubcaps would need to be destroyed to get them off.this is a serious safty problem that will cause accidents or deaths of people trying to change a flat!!!  view

The retention clips for the right signal/parking light assembly broke off while i was driving at 55mph. the assembly fell out of the socket and was retained by wiring harness. upon next visit to dealer was informed that this is a common problem caused by plastic failure which exists in saab 9-3 models. first time they have seen on 9-5 model. saab will not replace assemblies. dealer suggested checking other assembly which i did and found plastic broken on this assembly as well. in addition, the bracket which holds the screw to retain the lamp has broken as well. this is a premature failure of required safety equipment.  view
