1994 GMC K15 User Comment / Complaint

Engine check light comes on dashboard, and when she puts it in gear it makes a clunking noise.  view

Consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway and another vehicle jumped in front of him. he went to apply brakes and pedal went all the way to the floor. dealership was aware of problem.  view

Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway and noticed a tremble of vibration. he was able to pull over. noticed that rear passenger tire tread separated from rim. firestone, bridgestone re040, potenca, p225 r15/ dealership was aware of the problem.  view

I have done a lot of research on this problem, and the faulty design of the egr valve system on this motor, leads to senseless frequent need to be removed and cleaned due to carbon chunks causing the valve to stick open (about every 500 miles). when this occurs (without warning)the brake system almost completely fails, (albeit at low speeds), and we have the added danger of having to frequently repair this problem on the side of the road, (amidst traffic), or be subject to monthly towing and repair bills. this is a rediculous problem, and i beleive that a fix for this problem should be devised by gm, and applied to all gm vehicles that have the vortec 4.3 v6 engine, and electronic egr valve.  view

Consumer states abs instrument panel light was on all the time and the power brakes were not working but that the base manual brakes seemed to be working slightly, the brakes were inspected by mechanic and consumer was advised that the anitlock brake system hydraulic control unit had experienced excessive brake actuator piston seal wear and that caused the actuator pump motor to deteriorate, mechanic informed consumer there was a recall for brakes and to take vehicle to delaership, consumer contacted dealership and they advised him that the work had been performed already and they were not going to do anything else, mechanic also called dealership and tried to explain but was told that recall did not apply to brake system.  view

Prior to recall notification(00v287000) consumer had repairs done because air condition ceased and it was discovered at that point that ignition switch needed to be replaced,failure of the recall component caused the air conditioner to fail, consumer is seeking reimbursement for ignition switch.  view

Vehicle not included in recall number 93v015000. coolant leaking into vehicle on driver's side due to a crack in heater core. please give any further details.  view

While driving consumer started experiencing problems with brakes, the pedal had to be pushed down further than normal, and the brakes did not seem to work smoothly, while trying to stop for a light, the brakes failed completley and warning signal did not come on, consumer swerved onto the shoulder put the car in low gear and had pedal to the floor and vehicle finally stopped, vehicle was towed in and inspected and it was determined that the master cylinder contained black fluid, and that the cylinder needed to be replaced.  view
