1990 GMC C15 User Comment / Complaint

00v 271 000/rear wheel sprocket: unable to get dealer, harley davidson of west virginia, south charlson, wv; phone# 800/766-4647 to honor manufacturer's recall because of no parts available. seeking help from nhtsa in this matter. feel free to provide any further details on this problem.  view

Vehicle was pulling sharply to the left when braking at highway speed. vehicle been in dealer shop on two occasions, and problem stilloccurring. please feel free to provide us with any further information concerning this matter.  view

Headlight covers are becoming very dim. this is causing light not to be seen very clearly at night and at certain distances. lens cover is yellowish, and light is hardly shinning through.  view

Was driving vehicle when headlight cover became dim. was not able to see distances clearly during night. headlight lens cover was very yellowish looking and light was not able to shine through clearly.  view

The discs and the cylinder have been replaced twice and now need to be replaced for the third time. if we drive in the nearby smokey mountains the brakes begin to smoke soon after starting downhill where more braking than usual is required. we have been told by the gmc dealer where we purchased the tahoe that the brakes on the 1996 vehicle were too small and have since been upgraded on later vehicles. yet they charge us to replace the brake discs or cylinder. we basically can not drive in any mountain areas with just passengers, much less pulling anything.  view

Head gasket failed, consumer then contacted dealer because there was an extended warranty on vehicle, dealership advised consumer they could do nothing until they received approval from manufacturer, consumer then contacted manufacturer and was advised that due to the age of the vehicle they would not be able to assist in spite of the 70,000 extended warranty ( daughter on behalf of father-joseph beleski).  view

Dealer replaced instrument panel cluster module and problm has reoccurred. taken back to the dealer, and informed consumer that a wire was founded broken and replaced it again. no problems at this time. consumer does not feel that he should have been charged, vehicle had been worked on during a recall repair regarding the air bag on june 7th of 2000.  view
