1995 GMC G35 User Comment / Complaint

Rusty transmission fluid level indicator/oil filler tube as per chevrolet service bulletin id #594999. chevrolet will not replace even tho' it is a latent defect. why? transmission failure could occur at any time.  view

Since 1999, doors lock without any warning. happens while driving down road & when stopped, engine running or not. when doors unlocked, they will immediately re-lock themselves. seems to literally resist unlocking. will lock while trying to open doors and will stop doors from opening.  view

The car has less than 5,000 miles . the cigarette lighter/accessory outlet developed a short with fuse blowout . the interior lever to the left of the driver's seat does not function to open the outside lid covering the gas cap . the car is in almost new condition with less than 5,000 miles since 1996 . car is also in for mandatory recall servicing due to notice from ford .have there been other complaints about shorting in the cigarette lighter/accessory outlet system ? have there been other complaints about the interior gas cap lid lever not functioning ? i am being charged for the repair of these items . i wonder whether there was a basic design deficiency that led to such malfunctioning after less than 5,000 miles .  view

There is a knock in the engine upon accelerating. the car has been to plantation ford twice and each time i am told that this knocking noise is a "characteristic of the engine". per ford engineers this engine is no longer used in current production therefore, they can compare my engine to another engine with low mileage. the mechanics at plantation ford do agree there is a noise in the engine but no one seems to want to fix it. no i have not had any failures or accidents yet. however, common sense tells one that a knock in an engine is not good. please help me.  view

Vehicle traveling at approx. 40 m.p.h., rear ended stopped vehicle causing front end impact to celica, drivers side air bag failed to deploy, driver's head struck windshield causing injury.  view

This car has burned several quarts of oil since i've owned it. it burns approximately 1 to 1 1/2 quarts every one thousand miles. the dealership said the 2001 corvettes all have this problem because of bad piston rings. they siad some cars consume as much as 3 quarts of oil per 1000 miles. the amount of oil burned is relative to how hard the car is driven. there are know replacement parts available at this time. i think the whole engine shopuld be replaced along with the oil soaked catalitic converter and mufflers.  view
