I had a blow out with the firestone recalled tires. the rim cracked. the dealership said that i must of hit something to crack the rim and cause the flat because ther was nothing wrong with the tire. i did not! i said the the rims may be defective or it was caused by the unsafe tires. they dismissed it right away. i called ford motor company and got tangled up in alot of red tape. i'm writing so these possible rim defects may be investigated, so other people that drive these suv's don't run the risk of getting injured if they are defective. While attempting to start the vehicle the engine caught fire totally destroying the car. nlm there was recall on the upper intake manifold. an investigator stated that the fire originated within the ignition of vapors of gasoline in the engine compartment of the vehicle, they stated that it should be noted that the conditions described at the time of the fire are in line with the recall regarding the upper intake manifold. referenced in ea02-030  view

Complete tire separation, the tire itself never went flat but entire tread came loose and remained attached in only 1 small 3 inch area completly across tire. ( tire size 31x1050r15lt) tire brand (cooper)  view

Tires have blown out 3 times with peeling tires, 7-5-00, 7-28-00, 7-29-00, bridgestone dueler h/t. (p265/70r16) tires have been replaced.  view

The idle air control valve stuck causing the vehicles engine to race out of control and the check engine light to illuminated, the consumer feels this vehicle should not be having this type of failure at such low mileage. nlm  view

The right front tire separated while driving, a few weeks later the left rear tire separated (b.f. goodrich belted polyglas tires). nlm  view

The engine cooling fan seized prior to recall notice 00v-367 causing the engine to overheat, the engine had to be replaced at the consumers expense, in feb., 2001 the engine quit working again. nlm  view

While driving the cable that holds the spare tire in place broke causing the spare tire to come off the truck. nlm  view
