1984 RENAULT ALLIANCE User Comment / Complaint

Consumer had received a recall notice 875 for ignition switch. vehicle could catch on fire in the instrument panel. dealer did not took care of this recall.  view

Consumer was involved in an accident because brakes failed to stop vehicle, resulting in an accident. consumer attempted to stop, there was no pressure behind brake pedal. attempted to pump brakes ,and that slowed vehicle down, but not in time to prevent an accident. consumer rear ended another vehicle at approximately 10-15 mph. please provide any additional information/attachments.  view

Sending unit in fuel tank shorted out. consumer states ignition switch also failed.  view

Rack & pinion steering kept going out. this causes vehicle to jerk left. this was second time it has happened. had the problem repaired previously, but has reappeared again. did not lose control of vehicle.  view

Welds on hinges of front doors are falling or either breaking away from frame of vehicle. had an independent mechanic check doors' structure. was informed that all of the welds needed to be replaced, and have doors repaired.  view

Was driving vehicle when oil pressure light went out. engine started knocking. took to independent mechanic, and informed consumer of engine trouble. oil pan showed no signs of oil. paint had peeled off oil pan and clogged intake manifold. contacted manufacturer , and representative sent out to check oil pan. at first indicated would help with repairs. later, informed consumer engine was too old, and would not help with repairs.  view

Manufacturer should make seat belt extenders available for consumers when needed. dealer / manufacturer notified, and is unwilling to assist in this matter. consumer states that because the fastener is so far behind her, it pulls the shoulder strap up under her right arm which causes painful chafing.  view
