Cruise control locked up while driving on a down grade freeway.  view

All four firestone radial atx ii (235-75r15) tires were replaced because the tread was separating from the tire causing one of the tires to go flat, consumer no longer has the tires in their possession but are requesting compensation for replacement tires. nlm  view

When driving at night or when headlights were needed consumer noticed poor or insufficent lightening which caused poor driver's visibility. also, manufacturer has changed design in 2001 vehicles. consumer had some safety concerns while driving his vehicle with firestone, wilderness p25570r16 tires. thus far , has not experienced a problem, but was just concerned. please provide any further details.  view

Consumer heard grinding noise. dealer informed him there was a tsb out to help correct this problem. bearings in rear axle had worn out, entire rear axle had to be replaced . chrysler paid for close to half of cost of repair.  view

Model #vn1500n1, one of teh front brake caliper anchor bolts on the front wheel fell out without warning. consumer noticed the caliper dragging and a noise. discovered the loose bracket and missing bolt when backing up and stopping.  view

Intermittently accelerator cable became frayed/ getting jammed into the cable housing, causing vehicle to accelerate suddenly and unexpectedly. dealer has been notified and will inspect vehicle.  view

While driving approximately 20 mph, and without any prior warning, steering wheel instantly locked up when a left turn was initiated. turn could not be completed and the vehicle went off road and into a yard before coming to stop. no injuries, but had speed been higher, or an open yard not available, this would have in my mind been a potentially catastrophic and life threatening event. engine was running, and serpentine belt had not broken. vehicle was towed to dealer and reportedly had steering gear box replaced. there have been other similar complaints and this should be investigated given the potential to cause a serious collision.  view

Vehicle was sitting inside of driveway, consumer was inspecting tires, and noticed that both rear tires were splitting in seams. all four tires were dry rotted and were replaced . uniroyal awp tiger paw, p185/65r14, dot ap7jjkuu426. 2 years after replacing tires, consumer had to replace 4 more due to splitting around the tread part of th tire.  view

Right front continental sport contac tire had a tread separation at 45 mph with driver and one passenger. original equipment, tire size p205/70r15, dot# unavailable. the other 3 tired were cupping.  view

While driving southbound at 45mph an auto pulled into traffic directly in front of me. i did not have time to brake, and struck vehicle driver's side door at 45. impact spun both vehicles into the center lane. truck front tires were moved back into the firewall,and tentire front end must be replaced. truck frame was damaged to the extent that the frame must be replaced. tthe drivers airbag did not deploy and was noted by the police, and rescue staff. driver of the automobile was pinned inside, and was transported to the emergency room. i have contacted toyota customer service three times in the last three weeks. each time i was told a representative would inspect the vehicle. yesterday i again contacted toyota and was told that they would not inspect the vehicle because it was not at a dealership. i want to know why a vehicle that sustained this kind of front end damage did not have airbags that deployed. thank you.  view

Gas pedal sticks if foot is removed for any reason, be it coasting into a turn, starting out from a stop. speed of vehicle does not matter. when the foot pedal engages there is sudden excelleration, cause passengers head to wipe forward. on icy conditions this has become a danger in itself. at the gas station inching up to pump it has locked up and lunged forward almosting hitting a vehicle in front. i have notifed the dealership. i have also spoke to three other people who have this same, year, make and model and all say they have the same problem. two of them have had repairs done on the gas pedal. window on driver side (electric) was being rolled up half way up window cable broke and window slammed down inside door. both passenger and drivers doors seem loose when rolled down as you can hear them rattleing inside. controls are intermittent and when temperature drops below 30 degrees don't work. passengers window 11/17/2000 wont not go up or down during temperature below 30. vehicle was not subhect to elemints as it was inside for repair to driver window. new motor and regulator need after 1 1/2 years. dealer informed no information.  view

New truck has constant vibration at idle and all speeds, 4th time back to dealer they made vibration worse, last resort for dealer is to replace engine mounts.  view

Rear hatchback window shattered, no outside cause, rear defrost was on at time and rear window wiper was on. dealer stated warranty would not cover although it was not cause by a foreign object.  view

While vehicle was parked at home consumer found out that tread had separated from tire without a warning. firestone, firehawk, p205/75r15, ford, probe 1993. the tire developed large bubble while the customer was driving. the tire was firehawk.  view

Had to replace steering pitman. vehicle was out of warranty.  view

Vehicle parked inside of garage consumer was backing out, and noticed that airbag light came on and stayed on until he took vehicle to dealership. so that mechanic could set the codes. the vehicle had been serviced five times for air bag problem. twice air bag sensors were replcaced. the consumer feels the defect was substantial impairment to use and safety of the vehicle.  view

While driving, coil spring broke in two pieces, cutting the driver side tire, consumer stated vehicle was so low, a tire jack could not get under vehicle.  view

Dimmer switch would fail to work properly when in use to dim from bright to low. entire panel would go out completely. then, a few seconds later would come back as bright as ever. been to dealer to get a dimmer switch part and to have an independent mechanic replace it.  view

Recall 99 v 193 000/abs: abs system engages intermittently and causes extended stopping distance. also, recall 98 v 150 001/windshield wipers: windshield wipers work intermittently. this can result in inoperative wipers, thus, reducing driver's visibilty, and increasing risk of a vehicle crash. dealer/manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not covered under the recall due to vin. feel free to provide any further details on this matter.  view

Transmission would jump while trying to shift from park to drive or from drive to park. sometimes would fail to shift. happened at least 4-5 times before taken to dealer. mechanic indicated a defect in transmission was causing the problem and it could be repaired.  view

Consumer was traveling about 25mph on a side street, was making a left turn, and vehicle started to shake and vibrate. then, vehicle shut off without prior notice. also vehicle had sparks and smoked inside of steering wheel. vehicle had to be towed.  view

I had experienced a loss of brakes on three or four different occasions. i brought vehicle to manufactures service represenative. i explained i loss my brakes for a short momment and then they return. with the most recent occurance the abs light came on. this did not happen in previous incidences. they checked the abs system found no errors, they checked the brakes no problems. they couldn't find anything, i had to speek with the service tech directly giving more of a detail of what happens. they came back and found the master brake cylinder was leaking causing the intermittent (extremely random) failure. they charged me for the repair (no problem). i called ford motor direct and asked to be refunded my repair cost because i did'nt think a master brake cyclinder should be failing @ 38k. they were very professional and had no objections, they agreed totally (they paid me for the repair). a week later, this morning i almost crashed into a semi. the end of my road has a stop sign conecting to a major highway. when i proceeded to use my brakes to stop the vehicle did not stop! the brake problem was back. this incident was the worst of the brake failures, i literally almost got crushed by the semidid. i called the manufactures service rep. they told me they thought they had the fix with master cycliner, obviously it was not the fix. i asked what they thought it could be they had no clue! i have an appointment this monday with the shop to see if they can find the cause one more time. i stress, this problem is extremely dangerous. when one losses his brakes you loss total control. i hope this information can help save a life some where. thank you  view

Seatbelt feels like it is secure but is not. it comes out.  view

This is a new four door model ford pickup truck with a full size rear seat. the problem is that the rear seat does not have any head rests/restraints on the back of the seat. during a fast stop or accident passengers in the back seat will strike there head on the back window causing serious injury. ford has just changed the truck design to include head rests/restraints on its f150 supercrew but will not recall/replace all the rear seats made prior to the change. all f150 supercrews made up to approx. oct. 2000 need this correction. calling ford has not helped in the matter.  view

Sometimes when putting key into ignition key will go around 360 degrees, and then sometimes key gets stuck. the consumer found out that there were minimun of two vehicles per month that come to the dealer for the same problem.  view

Vehicle has a blown headgasket. consumer waiting to hear from dodge. the leak in the head gasket resulted in oil dripping on to the transmission. the head gasket was fixed.  view

I am aware of the problems with the ford 3.4 l early head gasket failure, now that it has happened to me. i had to spend over $900 to get the repair done. this has in turn put me and my family into a serious financial situation. i have since learned that there was an extended warranty on many of these engines, but it was for 7 years, leaving my car out of that. however, since it has only 65,000 miles on it, i think ford should rethink their policy. i also have learned that there is a potential for the head gasket to blow again. how can ford be allowed to let this go on and on and on for the owners of these vehicles? sure, you can get it fixed if it is under the warranty, extended or regular, but what about the people who have the failure later and then even again at some point. i think the situation is far worse that ford is admitting, that there are many, many more cars with this problem and that it will continue to be a problem long after the 7 year extended warranty for many of the cars affected. how can i have my 17 year old child go out in the car and get stranded who knows where. we live in an area that can have some long, dark roads. so, even though the car itself may not be a safety hazard due to the head gasket problem, it is a potential safety threat if someone breaks down in a bad area. it could be very dangerous. what is being done about this?? is ford being allowed to cover this up like they did with the tires and lie about how many vehicles are really affected and to what extent? at the expense of all of us who cannot afford to pay for a repair that should not be necessary in the first place. why should i have to be afraid to drive somewhere at night, being a woman, with the risk of breaking down on a dark road somewhere? why should i have to pay for the repair even once, no matter when it happens, especially with 65,000 miles on it. i do not even know if this is the first time for this vehicle to have this problem since i purchased it used.  view

This problem was reported accurately by another person 0diid 726109/ we just purchased a battery to correct the problem, which it did for about 100 miles, then it was ditto, but would like an email as to what the person odiid 726109 found to be the problem. my husband is a master mechanic.  view

Part is plastic. similar vehicles have been recalled. failure of this part in turn caused the heads to warp. we have lost approximately 2 weeks of revenue from this vehicle.  view

There is no head restraint on back seats. in a sudden stop or frontal collision, back seat passengers heads will be making their way through the back glass to graphic, if not violent death.  view

Front strut bracket failure causing front suspension noise, poor ride, and uneven tire wear. previous tsb's were noted by owner. problem fixed by dealer under extended warranty. i have concerns about this major component failure at relatively low mileage for suspension components and would have had to pay over $500 if not covered by extended warranty. do to numerous complaints of this nature in toyota cars, would think this is likely manufacturing or engineering defect and duty of toyota to fix.  view

Variableration power steering is giving consumer some problems, and he almost had an accident. consumer was travling at 40-50 mph and when changing lanes steering went out. problem with the steering is that wheel gets too loose when slowing down, and wheel turns more the it should.  view

Gears on rear end are all chewed up. consumer noticed this when vehicle was making a loud noise. consumer has not contacted dealer yet.  view

When vehicle is started it has a very high idle, and it gets stuck in this position. their is recall 90v117 for this problem, but this vehicle is not covered.  view

Evaporator has been replaced 2 times and only lasts for about year. cause is unknown. the evaporator to be replaced again because of leaks.  view

This car was a lemon...dealer failed to repair and then sold this to another person...i received two parking tickets on this car which i have not had in my possession since july and the resgistation is still in my name the car had many defects and dealer refused to refund full amount paid in cash...i was double teamed and emotional stressed by the tactics that the salemen used....i know the car was resold and it was a lemon ...is there any way to stop this kind of treatment to consumers. no safety defect mentioned in summary.  view

Engine stalled going into sharp curve. total loss of power without warning. dealer could not duplicate problem. neither dealer nor manufacturer would guarantee that the problem would not reoccur.  view

I am wondering how i can keep udated on the recent recall motion on the ignition modules. i am very incomfortable in relying on ford to give me this info. i saw many recalls and i have not been notified of any. my seat belt track was one of them. i cannot afford to fix it and now i find out i could have taken it to a dealer.  view
