Lower seat back attaching bolts broke on the passenger seat which could cause seat to release from the upright position. vehicle was recalled for the same problem with the driver seat. recall number 99v212000. . the recall was for the driver side seat failure but manufacturer refused to take responsibility for passenger side seat failure.

Brakes pull to the right momentarily upon every application. all brake hardware has been replaced, including calipers; however, problem persists. this will definitely lead to an accident eventually. steering becomes "squirrelly" often when cornering or when negotiating curves. wheel tends to "oversteer" by itself with apparent momentary boosts in power steering force. these events are not predictable and will also likely cause an accident at some point in time. dealer says there is nothing wrong with the steering. i have driven more than one million miles in my life and currently own two vans, one suburban, and one pickup truck and one auto. i darn sure know when a vehicle is operating properly or when it has a serious problem.

Seat retaining bolts "fell out" while braking for major roadway. seat pivoted abruptly tossing driver into steering wheel and onto floor. driver stopped vehicle with hand on brake within a few feet of a passing semi-trailer truck traveling an estimated 60 mph. a fraction of a second later and fatalities would have been certain! the seats are part of a mark iii conversion. the retaining bolts appear to be fastened with aluminum washers that obviously do not hold up well. the seat has been replaced; however, i do not know if the defect has been appropriately rectified.

On two separte occasions over the past 18 months, i have experienced tire failure (blow-outs) with the firestone fr680 (dot w2rwaktxxx) tires due to tread delamination similar to the problems experienced with the firestone atx, atx ii, and wilderness at tires. the tread surface delaminated at the steel belt layer, causing catostrophic failure. please check into similar problems with the firestone fr680 tires, and report findings. if warranted, i think firestone should recall these tires before someone is eriously injured/killed.( dot number: w2rwakt039 tire size: p195/70r14 )
