1989 PLYMOUTH HORIZON User Comment / Complaint

Pe 00 020/tire tread separation: all tires had hair line cracks around the tire where the tread meets. original equipment on a 1996 ford, explorer, p255/70r16, dot unavailable. firestone notified . please feel free to provide any further details.  view

While traveling at 45 mph hood unlatched and shattered the front windshield. no injury reported. please provide further details.  view

Pe00 020; she was traveling about 75mph on highway and heard a banging noise. vehicle started to swerve, and she was able to control vehicle, and pull it over. left rear tire tread had separated. also, damaged the vehicle. firestone, wilderness #atx, p23575r15. consumer has contacted firestone.  view

Do not buy a kia! where shall i begin?--the car has 18,654 miles and the front brake pads and rotors have been replaced 5x. unbelieveable!! wanna hear more? i went to court on 6-15-00, nj lemon law, and they thought the brakes were fine, so i settled for an extended warranty----now just 2 months later the brakes failed again!!!!! i have had other numerous problems such as ac, heat, stalling, radio, fuel tank and more--reminder-the car is 2 years old. please contact me, if anyone has any questions or suggestions for me. right now, i've been contacting kia, consumer affairs, better business bureau trying to see what i can do,cause, i don"t want the kia anymore!!!!!!!!  view

My explorer has ~22,000 miles on it. all four tires are severely cracking where the tread joins the tire. the tires have been well maintained and rotated at proper intervals. i have not done any off road driving with my vehicle. all the miles have been normal city and highway driving. with the recent recall of the firestone wilderness 15 inch tires, i am concerned that the same structural failure is present in my 16 inch tires. the cracking involves the entire tire. it seems that the tread could just break free at any time. i am asking for your help in seeing to it that all sizes of the firestone tires are recalled. i would be more than happy to send photos of my tires and the cracking that has taking place on them. thanks for your time and help.( dot number: tire size: 255/70/r16 )  view

Peoo 020; consumer was traveling 40mph on highway and heard a banging noise, left rear tire tread separated, and it tore a hole though the bottom of vehicle. tire was flat. firestone, bridgestone, size p21575 sr15. consumer contacted firstone, and they told consumer to take it back to where he bought it from. bridgestone/firestone p215/75/r15  view

While filling up vehicle it started leaking gas, just like it did back in mar.2000 when it was taken in for recall on fuel tank. took vehicle to dealer, and they said it had nothing to do with recall, and that tank broke and needed to be replaced.  view

Consumer was pulling on the strap to restrain the buckle broke off strap. dealer didn't seem to be concerned about the safety. consumer felt that if in a crash it would be very unsafe.  view

While pulling into parking garage, consumer put car into park and it accelerated into the wall. vehicle was totalled.  view

While approaching a bridge consumer heard a "pop" noise, seconds later the tire went down (firestone wildness at 235-75-r15) (ford explorer- 1997) refer to odi # 553609. nlm  view
