1989 PLYMOUTH HORIZON User Comment / Complaint

Two tires with quarter size blister on each with steel protruding from each. there is approximately a 1/4" of tread. these blisters are not worn portions of the tires. they are protruding from otherwise aparently tires in good condition. each blister is symetrically located to one and other on each tire. only response from firestone was a canned response about their p235 recall. Hate firestone, they replaced recall tires with at's. had atx. we also paid $200+ to have them put on 4 new shocks. said if we not happy they will replace with anything we wanted. would not have accepted the at's if he hadn't said we could get replaced if not happy. contacted them and asked for goodyear or michellin's. they have brushed us off. heard some got $500 to replace tires anywhere they wanted but since ours have been replaced once, afraid we will not be reimbursed. current tires are very hard ride and cause car to dash lights to go out, and car isn't as steady on the at's. these 4x4 at's seem to want to hunt and not good in mud. live in country and use 4 wheel drive often. hate these tires. will never buy firestone tires again! While traveling 65-70mph vehicle jerked to the side & lost control. it started to slide downhill & over an embankment. finally, came to a stop & owner got out & checked vehicle & tires. noticed a large hole in the right front sidewall where it had split. tire had blown. vehicle had not hit anything. tire was a firestone wilderness p215/65r15 95s.  view

Pe 00020:; while driving 70mph in a light snow in nebraska left rear tire blew. tire & tread became mangled & shredded. was able to control vehicle. does not have tire after having spare replaced. firestone wilderness at, size p235/75r15 with 28,000 miles on it.  view

Vehicle has been having ongoing problem with windshield wipers since vehicle was purchased. windshield wipers do not work properly in the rain. windshield wipers would either stop working or change speeds on their own. also, when thedy are on while wet, and consumer attempts to turn them off, windshield wipers would continue to move, even while the engine is turned off. vehicle has been taken to the dealership on numerous occasions, and have been replaced. per technician, no further repairs were going to be made since there were no remedies to the problem.  view

Engine runs 30-40mph with foot off gas, due to coolant leaking in engine into oil. put coolant (dex cool) in car, paid for a window regulator on passenger side, soon light heater ducts, think cylinder shift light clicker, low coolant, engine noise, we were told car was normal.  view

Firestone wilderness p255/70r16 on this 2000 truck. sidewall separated after 40 minutes of driving and parking. firestone was contacted.  view

Original equipment with toyota sienna le 1999, tire size p20570r15, dot w2mofba399 with 49,000 miles. while traveling at 70 mph consumer heard a loud noise and vehice started to pull to right. smoke was everywhere when front passenger side tire tread came completely off , making it difficult to control vehicle.  view

While stopping at a red light vehicle completely went dead because it ran out of fuel, even though gas gauge indicator was over the quarter tank mark. vehicle will be checked by the dealership. please provide any further information.  view
