1989 BMW 320 User Comment / Complaint

Trim piece for right seat track came off.  view

Several minor engine components (o2 sensors, coolant lines, computer, rough running engine, check engine light coming on & off) failed over a one year period followed by the head gasket failure. after it was repaired, about 100 miles later the engine failed. the oil pressure light came on, the van lost power and the speed started fluctuating. this was on a high speed, but no shoulder bridge, so slowing down could have caused an accident. fortunately it didn't this time. the dealer recommended towing the van to the garage, and after review the engine was recommended to be replaced.  view

Customer service refuses to fix problem. concerned about safety. no safety defect mentioned within summary.  view

Since september 18th the vehicle has stalled 9 times for no reason. this happened while driivng at any speed and pulling off after a stopping. dealership was not able to find out what was causing this problem.  view

The suspension moves up and down vigoursly which causes loss of vehicle control which could result in an accident. dealer cannot determine the cause of the problem.  view

Intermittently the windshield wipers become inoperable, resulting in poor visibility. a recall has been issued on various makes and models . however, this vehicle was not included due to vin. manufacturer has been notified.  view

I was test driving the car. i made a left turn on a gravel road. i expected the front wheels to pull me through the turn, but the rear wheels pushed me at a 300 angle into a guardrail off the road. the front wheels slid sideways. once this happened it was too late to stop. the dealer accused me of negligence, though the salesman instructed me to drive on this road. i am now involved in a lawsuit. i don't know what i could have done.  view

Just like to know on what parts is vw responsible for and if a problem has been affected from a recall, do they pay? and to see if it is worth purchasing a '92 corrado slc. no safety defect mentione din summary.  view

A vibration in car at highway speeds,a slight noise or roar sound.the car drifts right to left from center while at highway speeds(55-75).the next thing i found is how the impala easily hydroplanes even at reduced speeds and people passing me thinging new car wrong,well if they where driving my impala they wound get the fear of hydroplaning vaery quickly. Evenflo model # 2071l3p1, dom 01-aug-1999 27 aug 99: 1. it is very hard and difficult to release css from base; 2. consumer went to grab handle with infant inside, and handle released, jumped out of position, causing infant to fall out. infant rushed to hospital, later released with no injuries.  view

Kolcraft model 43903, dom 03-05-99, consumer has been waiting for parts for recall #99e047000, carrier seat handle to arrive for 7 week. , manufacturer has been contacted on 3 occasions, but parts are still not available.  view

The bearing inside the reaction carrier was damaged causing damage to carrier, reaction gear, sun gear, thrust washers. all transmission parts had to be replaced. i have saved the damaged parts. i contacted chevrolet and they told me that since i had over 36,000 miles on my vehicle, is was no longer under warranty, and i would receive no reimbursement for the repair work. i feel that a transmission should last longer than 65,000 miles. i never even towed anything with this van. regarding the rear air conditioning in my van, it was the aluminum pipe underneath the van that rusted and all the refrigerant evaporated. thus, i had to replace a 6" piece of pipe at a cost of over $250! i was told by the air conditioning company from indiana that they no longer use aluminum pipe since it rusts being underneath the van, and they use another product. they have had many complaints regarding that. this was not covered under warranty since my mileage was also over 36,000 miles. i have had many other problems with this van, some were fixed for the time being, but now i still have the same problem. some were never fixed properly, or the dearler said they didn't know how to fix it. i have many repair invoices for this vehicle. i would never purchase another chevrolet van.  view

Fuel cap is defective. when filling up vehicle, fuel cap doesn't secure the gasoline. it spills out of the fuel tank.  view

Putting a child in the car seat accidently hit the automatic lock on the key chain and sliding door began to close. applied pressure to keep it from closing, but it failed. had to move out of the way. manual states that if a power sliding door runs into any obstacle while it is closing, door will stop and then reverse direction. contacted dealer , and they contacted manufacturer. manufacturer said it is supposed to work like this.  view

Whle driving in first gear transmission felt like it was slipping out of gear. the same happend when it was in third gear.  view

While traveling on wet pavement, trying to make a stop, intermittently vehicle went into extended stopping distance. dealer called consumer and stated that he called the manufacturer, and they stated that he did not have to do the work free of charge. vehicle was not checked/ repaired because dealer insisted consumer was obligated to pay.  view

While driving down the road had to blow the horn, it didn't work. contacted dealer ,nothing could be done. consumer would have to take eyes off the road to find a spot on the steering wheel to sound the horn.  view

Parked vehicle on a hill, and gas was running out or leaking. noticed a hole in the top of the tank . contacted the dealer, was told that the vent line broke. they replaced the vent hose from top of tank to the intake nozzle.  view

I've had the truck in the shop four times to fix the same problem an is still not fixed.at the time it was very dangrous the problum is a little bit fixed but , i went in there to buy a new truck an i got a truck that leans to right tires going bad i've put two set's of stearing tires on been in front end shop about seven times tires still going bad , an all sort's of other thing's as well. an this is a new 98.000.00 dollar truck i bought , an i can't find anybody to help me.  view
