1988 MERKUR SCORPIO User Comment / Complaint

Engine check light and air bag light are on and won't go off. consumer had harness wires replaced and other electrical wires replaced. dealer can't determine the cause of the problem.  view

Windshield wipers are working intermittently, and sometimes the wiper's don't work at all.  view

This is an addendum to the earlier voq i posted on 9/10/99. eurovans were recalled in canada for the very same fuel leak problem - canadian recall # 1994072. the recall is in 1994, therefore vw would not have had any notice of the problem until 1994, after the 1993 model year production had ended. the fuel systems between 1992 canadian and 1993 us eurovans are identical, therefore the problem is common to both.  view

I've had my car for service twice complaining about a groaning noise in the steering. this noise is most prevalent after turning the wheel hard. the service dept. at the dealership said this is normal in power steering. i've owned p.s. cars for years and never heard those sounds. someone i know with an intrigue with the same problem was told it was the intermediate steering and they've ordered a part for her to repair the car.  view

While driving down a highway consumer tried to slowdown and brakes did not work ,and steering wheel locked up. had to hit a guardrail to stop, airbags didnt deploy.  view

Vehicle been experiencing problem with door hinges/ attachments tearing the body and causing the door to slowly drop. dealer notified.  view

Reporting both front folded seat will not stay latch, seat back can be move by pushing back on seat. dealer notified and refused to repairs unless cost go to consumer.  view
