1990 DAIHATSU CHARADE User Comment / Complaint

Purchased car (used) in nov. 1997. was told by amato olds that the car underwent a complete inspection. have had numerous problems including: intake manifold replaced, 4 of 6 fuel injectors replaced, fan motor in engine replaced. heard grinding noise in brakes last nite. mechanic states that the calipers on rear brakes have rusted in locked position. said that this is an old problem. have worn down rotors. must replace calipers and rotors in rear. also in rear, emergency brake has failed. also looks to be old problem. states front brakes also need rotors. uneven wear on rotors. mechanic seems to think that all of these problems existed when car was purchased. noticed another complaint on calipers and rotors. is there anything that can be done?  view

I have been told by the dealership that i purchased my vehicle new from that my entire engine needs to be replaced because of head gasket problems, overheating and rust in my radiator. the suv is only 3 years old and i have done the best to maintain this vehicle properly. gm/chevrolet motors said that the warranty on the vehicle was only for 3 yrs/36,000miles. i cannot see paying for a new engine for a 3 year old vehicle when it clearly seems to be defective or a bad design from the beginning if the engine is shot. it has 76,000 miles on it and again only 3 years old. i would like this matter to be investigated and hope to have gm/chevrolet cover this problem that is not my fault whatsoever. is this issue a reality of "chevy suvs last only 3 years then the engine goes bad?"  view

I was told in a letter by mazda that the reason my brakes go out is because i ride my brakes and that my account was noted for this. the only problem is no one from mazda can give me a copy of the documented proof that this is the problem. they can't tell me at all what or why my tranmisson has gone out.  view

Head gasket failed while my wife was driving on the frewway approx 100 miles from home. contacted dealer, who contacted ford as ford had recognized that this part was defective and had exteneded the warranty until 12-31-98. ford would not pay anything towards the repair. inspection of the head gasket reveals there is obviously a flaw in the design, (at least obvious to me).. new head gasket design has been modified to correct problem.  view

The clip that hold the fuel line under the engine i don't belive is strong enough to complete its task. i have heard many incidents in where owner of the 94- present camaros have had fires under the hood of there car because this plastic clip breaks and the fuel line then comes incontact with the valve covers which burns a hole in the fuel line and caused a fire under the hood. i belive this a safety hazard and should be fixed. thanks  view
