The car lost the power when was driving which happened three times within three months (9/24/98, 10/24/98, 12/18/98) which is very dangeours on the freeway and almost hit by the car behind.

I reported my accident that was on june 15 1998 to toyota and they has a rep come look at my car and their response was that the airbags are fine. my concern was that i hit head on to an another car and hit in all theranges that all the manual says and my airbags didn't deploy. second i was in another car accident on aug 25th where the front of my car was damaged again and again my air bags didn't deploy. again toyota said that the air bags were fine and i received an airbag recall 12/22/1998 regarding the airbags being malfunction.

Standard transmission is mazada-built 5-speed and was original equipment. proceeding on interstate at speed. downshift from 5th to 4th for traffic. couldn't up shift to 5th. could shift from 4th to neutral. stopped vehicle. couldn't shift transmission into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th or reverse. only had 4th gear. at approximately 78,500 miles transmission fluid level and quality checked by owner as part of routine self-maintenance and oil change. fluid level and quality last checked by dealer as part of 60,000 mile service. have investigated complaint database and tsb database. i believe there many recurring incidents of this problem. repair solution was replacement of transmission with a rebuilt transmission by the dealer. attempting to determine if conditions warranty investigation and potential recall.
