put the key in the ignition and turn it to on. leave it for EXACTLY 10 minutes, do not TOUCH IT. the light will flash and then disappear after ten minutes. take the key out, put it back in and start (i do this weekly, unfortunately)

I have the same problem. From what I was told, it's an indication, that the fuel pump is starting to go. I'm going to replace mine. Remember, the float, which tells how much gas there is, is connected to your fuel pump, IN the gas tank.
