2008 VOLVO XC70 Recall

Volvo Cars has stated that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Volvo XC70. They stated in certain models, 2 software errors have been found in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) control unit software. This may result in a late deployment of the inflatable curtain (IC) and side impact protection system (SIPS) air bags in certain side impact crash situations. In addition, this software error may also cause the ‘SRS airbag - service urgent’ message and SRS warning light to illuminate.

2008 VOLVO V50 Recall

Volvo is recalling certain 2008 v50 passenger vehicles equipped with roof rails. Bolts have been found to be out of specification. This has caused less tread length on the bolts which in turn has lead to insufficient clamping force in the joint due to the washer getting stuck when tightening the bolts.

Volvo Trucks North America announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Volvo VT. They stated that on certain trucks, an incorrect software parameter was loaded which resulted in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) ‘inhibit’ function being disabled.

Volvo Recalls 30 Cars In Romania

The Romanian importer of Swedish Volvo cars, recalled in service 30 Volvo S40 and V50 models to replace some electronic modules as part of a global recall project. Company representatives said that the operation started a couple of days ago and a quarter of the requested cars were in service by now already.

50,000 Recalls For The UK

More than 50,000 commercial vehicles were recalled in the second half of 2007, one-fifth of which were heavy trucks. Iveco was the subject of four campaigns, the largest of which affected 10,117 Eurocargos. There was a possibility that the contacts in the cab wiring loom may oxidise and cause overheating of the connector block. In the worst case scenario this might have caused a fire.
