GM has announced that they are recalling certain models of the 2008 Saturn Vue vehicles with body color outside door handles. They stated that the outside door handles may stick or bind. If this were to occur, the door may not latch when closed.
Driving with an unlatched door could result in an unbelted occupant falling out of the vehicle, causing increased risk of injury. Dealers will replace the outside door handles with chrome door handles free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or before August 18,2009. Owners may contact Saturn at 1-800-972-8876 or at www.gmownercenter.com

Yeah, I agree. This is one matter that should be known to all users since nowadays, a lot are not using seatbelts anymore.

GM is recalling all of the VUE’s with potential defective door handles, however, they are replacing our painted door handles which blend in with the color of the vehicle with chrome handles - I didn’t buy the vehicle with chrome, I don’t want chrome - it’s like wearing brown shoes with a black tux. I want what I paid for, not something substandard.

I have had one of my front painted handles replaced already due to this problem, but my dealer STILL requires my car to see if it is one of the effected cars.
