2009 Hummer H3T Recall

 images7.jpeg

General Motors has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2009 Hummer H3T vehicles.  They stated that some of the vehicles have a condition in which the fuel tank front support strap may fracture.  If this occurs, the fuel tank would be supported by the rear support strap and stone shield only.  Continued use of the vehicle may eventually fracture the rear support strap and shield fasteners.

The fuel tank could seperate from the vehicle increasing the risk of a crash.  Dealers will install a new design fuel tasnk front support strap free of charge.  The recall is expected to begin on or before April 10, 2009.  Owners may contact Hummer at 1-800-732-5493 or owner center at www.gmownercenter.com.

My truck is already in the shop right now for warranty issues with the airbags. And they failed to mention anything about the recall on the gas tank.I guess the customer must do there own investigating to get anything done!Glad I checked,Or I’d be coming in with a possibly bigger warranty issue?

I just had mine serviced for leaf springs that get debris in it. There is a bulletin. I was hearing a pop sound when turning on an uneven surface. Also my seat heater button was malfunctioning. Would come on when it wanted and not go off. May want to check yours.

The last thing you need is a fuel tank coming undone in an accident. BBQ’ing aint fun when you’re on the menu! I suggest you have this issue checked out on the double if you’re a Hummer H3 owner, so that you don’t discover a problem when you have an accident!
