Mazda has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2009 Mazda 6. They stated that the outer door handles may stick which may prevent the door from latching. This situation may allow the door to open while the vehicle is in motion.
Driving the vehicle with the door unlatched could lead to an unbelted occupant being ejected and could result in death or injury. Dealers will inspect the door handles and if necessary repair or replace the handles free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on or about Febuary 13, 2009. Owners may contact Mazda at 1-800-222-5500.

I have never ever heard so many complaints about vehicles as I have about Mazda vehicles, not just one specific model but all of them. They suck. There is always something wrong with the vehicles, anywhere from a transmission going out on a brand new vehicle or a safety concern like the latest recall for the door handles on the 2009 Mazda6–I thought this model was hot looking but I will never buy one or even test drive one. I feel sorry for the people that have purchased any Mazda. Even the old vehicles aren’t any good. There are people that haven’t had problems but they have just been lucky. Mazda should look into hiring Toyota or Honda engineers so that the vehicles will last. I just recently purchased a used 2004 Toyota and haven’t had any problems. I will definitely stick with Toyota. I’ve also had a Honda in the past and had no problems with that either. I really, really feel sorry for the people who think that purchasing/leasing a Mazda is a good thing. SUGGESTION TO THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING AT BUYING/LEASING A MAZDA……..ASK MANY QUESTIONS, ESPECIALLY ON RECALLS AND THEY KIND OF PARTS/ENGINES USED IN THE NEW VEHICLES, THEY MAY NOT BE GENUINE MAZDA ENGINES……YOU AND I KNOW THAT DEALERS WILL SELL YOU A STORY JUST TO GET THE SALE SO BEWARE….IF YOU DON’T KNOW THIS THEN YOU MUST BE LOST.

I have had 2 Mazdas and my friend is buying a fourth Mazda. We have not had any problems so far. My Protege5 has 200000 km on it - I had to replace tires, breaks, and oil - thats it. I drove it in really really bad conditions (I live in Canada), I took it to the places where SUVs are scared to go. No problem
I dont advertise Mazda - but those who have it love it!!!

I took had a Mazda and had absolutely now problems with her can the only reason that she go a new car was the fact that the cars was just too big for her. No more kids to fetch and carry. Mazda’s are lovely cars economical and reliable. So this is a surprise that the have a recall on one of their models.
