Toyota has announced that they are recalling certain models of the 2004 Sienna. In the event the retention clip used to secure the floor carpet cover is missing, the cover can interfere with the operation of the acceleration pedal if the acceleration pedal is depressed to nearly the full throttle position.
If this occurs, the acceleration pedal can become stuck which could result in a vehicle crash. Dealers will replace the retention clip and floor carpet cover at no charge. The manufacturer will begin notifying owners in early Febuary 2009. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-888-270-9371.

Chrysler has announced that they are recalling certain models of the 2005 Dodge Durango. They stated that the fuel tank filler tube inlet check valve may not fully close at the end of refueling. This could allow some fuel to escape from the vehicle through the filler neck at the end of refueling.
Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire. Dealers will inspect the fuel tank inelt check valve. Vehicles found to have a suspect inlet check valve will have the fuel tank assembly replaced free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during Febuary 2009. Chrysler has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 through 2009 Dodge Ram 2500m 3500, and 3500 cab chassis pickup trucks equipped with Powers and Sons steering linkage. The steering linkage grag link inner tie rod to pitman arm ball stud may fracture. Also, the steering linkage damper attaching the bracket may yeild and shift on the linkage.
This could result in a loss of steering control and restricted ability to turn the vehicle in one direction increasing the risk of a crash without warning. Dealers will replace the steering linkage drag link inner tie rod end assembly, and inspect the steering linkage damper bracket free of charge. The recal is expected to begin during January 2009. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

Triumph has announced that it is recalling certain models of the 2008 Rocket III Touring Motorcycles. They stated there could be a missing weld on the back of the pannier rail. The pannier rail may, after time, be weakened leading to a full fracture of the rail and possible loss of pannier and rail from the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the pannier rail.

Maserati has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Gran Turismo, Quattroporte, and Alfa Romeo vehicles. They stated that incorrectly torqued upper and lower ball joint nuts may cause the ball joints to loosen.
In time, this could lead to noise, steering wheel vibration, and failure of the ball joint stud resulting in damage or seperation of the suspension arm. This could result in a loss of steering capability, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the torgue of the front/rear upper and lower ball joint nuts and, in necessary, replace the suspension arms and hub carrier. The recall is expected to begin during Febuary 2009. Owners may contact Maserati at 1-201-816-2600.

Nissan has announced that they are recalling certain models of the 2009 Altima for failing to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard No 214, “Side impact protection.” They stated that these vehicles may have been manufactured with an out of specification weld on the door assembly.
This does not meet the standard requirements. All the affected vehicles have been brought back from the dealerships and remedied at the factory. None of these vehicles had been retailed.
