Dodge and Sprinter have announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 Dodge or Freightliner 2500 trucks. They stated that the rear axle spring leaves were produced with an incorrect raw material. Therefore the leaves are thicker than the serial components.
The rear axle springs may fail earlier than designed increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the rear axle springs free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. Owners may contact Sprinter at 1-843-695-5000.
