Buell has announced that they will be recalling certain models of the 2008 through 2009 1125CR motorcycles. They stated that these motorcycles can experience a premature failure of the rear cylinder cam chain tension guide. This can cause plastic debris to block the oil pump screen, possibly leading to oil starvation and engine seizure.
This condition may allow the engine to seize, resulting in rear wheel lock up. This could result in a crash, which could cause injury or death to the rider. Dealers will replace the rear cam chain tensioner. Owners may contact Buell at 1-414-342-4680.

As a motorcycle rider of 20 years, I have to say, that is one scary defect! I’ve seen some bad ones over the years. One of them was on the first of the right hand side KTM dirt bikes. They brought them out with Nordisk rims. The rims were so soft that they bent and warped like putty. NOT GOOD!
